Clark’s Landing Yacht Club Wedding | Lauren Breznitsky & Taylor Barrett

The leaves are starting to turn and it’s finally starting to feel like fall for Lauren and Taylor’s Clark’s Landing Yacht Club. It was perfect weather for a perfect couple and a perfect day. Lauren and Taylor started off the day in different spots, met up at the church, and spent the rest of the day together celebrating as husband and wife.

Getting Ready for the Clark’s Landing Yacht Club Wedding

Lauren got ready in her parents gorgeous townhome delicately decorated just for this special day. There were custom bride and groom champagne glasses on a table with a bottle and a golden rose, bridal banners, plates and napkins shaped like a wedding dress, and florals provided by her godfather to give it that extra touch. While Lauren finished in hair and makeup, we captured some delicate details from her grandmother’s wedding dress sleeve wrapped around her bouquet, to her dazzling Kenneth Winston gown. Her mother and sister helped her into her gown, even using a fork to help with those pesky buttons. Her father waited a bit impatiently outside on the patio, trying to turn around and sneak a peek at his princess before she was ready. We headed up the stairs to recreate an emotional first look from her grandmother’s wedding day with her dad. When she floated down the stairs, he turned around and started to cry. He hugged her for a long time and did not want to let go. Now that everyone had seen Lauren ready for her big day, we captured some family portraits before heading off to the church. Lauren rode off in style in a car decorated by her father with lots of white tulle and a vinyl on the back window that said, “Goin’ to the chapel.” All the effort her family put into these small details was so sweet and made her wedding day even more special.

The Wedding Ceremony

Their wedding ceremony took place in the church where Taylor went to school, Holy Ghost Prep. It was a unique space with benches facing the aisle, which we love because it allows us to capture more of your loved ones’ reactions during the ceremony. The aisle was line with more lavish florals designed and provided by Lauren’s godfather. Bridesmaids began walking down the aisle and the anticipation built as Taylor awaited his bride, as they had not done a first look, it will be the first time he sees her. The doors opened and Lauren and her father headed up to Taylor waiting for her hand at the alter. Their traditional Catholic ceremony included communion, readings from the bible, the Unity candle, and Ave Maria, beautifully done by the wonderful church musicians including a pianist, a violinist, and cantor. After they were officially husband and wife, they kissed, headed up the aisle, and lead their guests out to the courtyard for a big cheer and kiss in front of the beautiful red door to the church. We stuck around for a few minutes to capture some family portraits in the church because it was such a beautiful place, graciously thanks to Terry. We took a few minutes for portraits with Lauren and Taylor too with the immaculate building behind before heading off to Clarks Landing Yacht Club for an evening of love, laughter, and partying.

Portraits & Wedding Reception at Clark’s Landing Yacht Club

When we arrived, we effortlessly shot some gorgeous couples’ portraits with the newlyweds. Lauren couldn’t wait to show off her new custom jean jacket with her new name, Mrs. Barrett, painted on the back in the most delicate calligraphy. Clarks Landing Yacht Club is surrounded by docks and boats, so of course we had to take advantage of the scenery for a sunset shot. The way the sky reflects on the water never fails to deliver an epic shot, with this epic couple who were super excited when we showed them a few camera-back previews. So worth the extra ten minutes!

We got these two back inside before they made their big debut as Mr. and Mrs. Bennett for the first time. Taylor is majorly into hip-hop so their music was upbeat and awesome. Lauren and Taylor shared their first dance to “Something” by Musiq Souchilde and Taylor and his mother danced to a cool mashup of “Dedicated to the One I love” with “Hey Mama” by Kanye West which then opened up the dance floor for everyone. The best man delivered a short but sweet toast and they said a prayer before dinner. Lauren and Taylor carefully cut their cake and danced the night away with lots of loving family and friends.

Congrats to Lauren and Taylor on your gorgeous wedding day. We loved all the little details and enjoyed capturing them so much! Thanks for letting us be a part of your special day!
