Elegant Vie Wedding | Ali Goldberg & Zach Ellis

The Sunday of Labor Day Weekend, Ali and Zach got married in an elegant Vie wedding ceremony and reception. Their love sparked over morning beers at a bar in Dewey Beach, and quickly fanned into flames.

Before the Elegant Vie Wedding

When Ali met Zach at the Starboard in Dewey Beach, they had no idea that just 4 short years later they’d be planning an elegant Vie wedding day. Ali knew one of the guys that was with Zach and so they connected, hitting it off right away. A few months later, Zach asked her to join him on business in San Diego and before they knew it, they were living together. Zach popped the question and the planning for their elegant Vie wedding began!

Getting Ready at The Notary Hotel

In the shadow of City Hall, the newly rebranded Notary Hotel was the scene for the first act of Ali and Zach’s elegant Vie wedding. Ali was having a wonderful time getting all dolled up for the wedding with her best gals and mom. Her stunning details were all perfectly coordinated, and her dress was beautifully suited to her. Chic and elegant, just like Ali.

Meanwhile, Zach was hanging with his dad as well as his brothers and best friend. Zach’s dad actually was his best man, and it was very sweet to watch them interact while getting ready. Zach’s the oldest boy and there’s something unique about that relationship. He quickly got dressed and, despite some reservations, nailed his bow tie on the first try! A couple of groom portraits later, we ventured across the street to City Hall for his first look with Ali.

The First Look at City Hall

In a nicely shaded, not densely populated area (thank you Made in America), Zach waited patiently. After a reminder not to turn around, he was ready to go. Ali crossed the street behind him, and drew ever nearer. When she touched his shoulder, he held her hand for a brief moment and turned to behold her. Their embrace was simple and sweet. They were together and ready for the day to begin.

Portraits Around City Hall & Reading Terminal Market

Before we made our way to their elegant Vie wedding ceremony and reception, we lingered around City Hall to capture the almost married couple. There’s so many beautiful nooks and crannies to use at City Hall and we did our best to find them all. A couple of blocks over, we grabbed a few pictures outside Reading Terminal Market before heading over to Vie.

The Elegant Vie Wedding Ceremony

After some bridal party and family formals, the stage was set for the main act: the wedding ceremony. In Jewish custom, there was first a private ceremony where Ali and Zach signed the ketubah. Then, in the beautiful courtyard at Vie, they met under the chuppah and exchanged their vows and rings in a traditional Jewish ceremony. The seven blessings were given and echoed by all in attendance, and as Zach stomped the glass, they kissed and it was official! The new Mr and Mrs gleefully recessed and joined their guests for the amazing Cescaphe cocktail hour.

The Elegant Vie Wedding Reception

Cocktail hour led into Ali and Zach being announced into their wedding reception to thunderous applause and cheers. They opened the dance floor with a beautiful and twirly first dance. They sang the entirety of their wedding song to each other and invited everyone to join them for a rousing hora.

Once everyone had danced it out a bit, it was time to sit for toasts, parent dances, and a delicious kosher dinner. One of the best moments came when the band cracked open a ton of glow sticks and everyone became a sea of neon on the dance floor. The night wore on and, after cake was cut, we dashed outside for some night portraits. Traffic was kind to us and people were super excited for the newlyweds as they shouted and honked their congratulations. Then it was time for us to head out.
