As wedding photographers, we may be partial to using too many exultant words, like timeless, stunning, or epic. But sometimes, when all of the pieces come together to create a flawless celebration of love, it’s all we can do! Leah & Dave’s wedding was one of these perfect days! Between their easy and obvious love for each other and a dream team of Philadelphia wedding professionals, their Free Library wedding was one for the record books!
Getting Ready at the Windsor Suites
We started their Free Library wedding day at the Windsor suites as Leah & Dave got ready with their closest friends & family. Without planning, the suites perfectly complemented their wedding palette of teals, blues, greens, & golds. Between this and the exquisite attention in Leah’s personal details, we started the day off in heaven. From her custom engagement ring to their wedding invitations to Leah’s intricately patterned gown, everything was in perfect coordination.
As Leah calmly got into her dress, David & the boys were also pulling off a timeless look! Dave’s perfectly tailored tux was embroidered with their initials & wedding date. He pulled together his ensemble with a perfectly tied bow tie & his charming smile!
Their First Look at the Rodin Museum
Talk about hidden gems of Philadelphia! With a beautiful reflection pool and flowers in full bloom, the only thing more beautiful that the gardens of the Rodin museum were Leah & David! As they saw each other for the first time on their wedding day, there was laughter, hugging, and even a few tears of joy!
We took more photos of these two around the Rodin Museum with their families, before walking back over to the Free Library of Philadelphia to continue their portrait session among the stacks and architecture of this iconic building. One of the most exciting parts of a Free Library wedding is being able to go throughout the library after closing and take portraits throughout the library. We were able to explore a few rooms of the library and take some timeless portraits on the grand staircase before it was time for their ceremony.
Their Free Library wedding ceremony
As the guests began milling about and preparing for the ceremony, music from a charming jazz trio filled the grand entrance of the Free Library of Philadelphia. The stage was set with beautiful white florals and lots of greenery, expertly designed by Robertson’s Flowers. As everyone settled into their seats, all eyes turned to the stunning marble staircase as David and Leah walked in to begin their nuptials. As their friend & officiant retold their story and Leah & Dave exchanged their vows, the crows sat mesmerized. As they walked back up the aisle, a married couple, everyone headed up to the second floor terrace for an awesome cocktail hour catered by Brûlée Catering.
Partying all night at a Free Library wedding reception
The night was perfect. The scene was set for their reception on the fourth floor terrace overlooking some of Philadelphia’s best recognized views! Leah & Dave carried the library theme throughout their decor, including books in the centerpiece design.
When Leah & Dave entered, they moved right into an expertly choreographed first dance. Their fancy footwork started off what would be a night filled with dancing, laughter, and celebration. As a few notable friends brought giggles to everyone, Leah & Dave raised Dave’s parents’ wedding goblets in a tribute to their families. After a delicious dinner, the dance floor opened up and didn’t stop until the very last moment of the night!
