When we get an email from a sibling of a previous bride or groom, we always do a happy dance. Another wedding with amazing people we’ve gotten the chance to know a bit more heightens our excitement. So it was awesome to hear from Iris, Sharon’s sister, when she was planning her wedding day with Kenneth. Right up until they had to cancel. It hurt our hearts almost as much as it hurt theirs. But rather than throw in the towel, Iris and Kenneth marched to the court house, got legally married, and called us to capture their love in photographs. And that is exactly what we did at Hunting Hill Mansion.
Newlywed Portrait Session Around Hunting Hill Mansion at Ridley Creek State Park
Practically located in our backyard, Ridley Creek State Park is an absolute gem. It’s one of our favorite places for weddings and engagement sessions. When Iris and Kenneth selected it for their newlywed portrait session, we couldn’t wait.
As we wandered around the grounds of Hunting Hill Mansion, which hosts the beautiful Parque at Ridley Creek wedding venue, it was a pure delight to capture the love these two have for each other. Every moment was filled with a sort of breathless beauty. Punctuated with whole body, vibrant laughter. The stone walls of Hunting Hill Mansion and the greenery of Ridley Creek State Park in full summer’s bloom only served to set these two apart. Our favorite moment was when we asked Kenneth to dip Iris. Someone lost their grip and nearly dropped their new wife! What resulted was one of our favorite images. Kenneth laughing wildly and Iris smiling at him with so much grace, even though he’d nearly dropped her.
