Kate and Chris’s wedding will not be soon forgotten by us. The scene was set on a beautifully warm Saturday in early October. We arrived to find Kate and her bridesmaids getting ready in matching robes, laughing together and enjoying the morning. Her white and sparkly Badgley Mischka heels and her beautiful jewelry glittered in the sunlight that flooded through the huge windows. As her hair and makeup wrapped up, a special note arrived from her almost husband. Beneath the humorous cover, the letter spoke of a true and deep lifelong love that would take it’s next step that day. Kate’s eyes sparkled as she read the words Chris had penned. With her fiancés words fresh in her mind, she stepped into her dress and put on the final touches. Veil in place, shoes on her feet, and earrings affixed, she was ready to dash off to her first look.
In the meantime, Chris and his groomsmen were having a great time getting ready. Chris was almost giddy as he put on his tie and his amazing mustachioed suit jacket. His handcrafted six pack holders that he had made for his groomsmen sat on the desk, filled with the necessities for the day: Jameson, Yuengling, and a pair of socks. Each groomsmen had a pair of gifted cufflinks that encapsulated his relationship with them. The hammer of Thor, poker hands, and the state of Maryland flag to name a few. Once he was dressed, a letter arrived. He beamed as he read the words Kate had written and with great vigor led the charge to the limo to get to the church for the first look.
The greenery was still in full effect and we set the players on nature’s stage. Chris stood with his back to the path, and through the mottled sunlight, Kate floated across the ground to meet him. Some grooms grin wildly, some cry, Chris simply gazed. As he gazed at Kate, this demure smile sat lightly on his lips. That look communicated everything you could ever need to know about their love. He adores her. She adores him. Their love is a cut above. Wow. Kate reminisced that this was her favorite moment of the day.
After this ethereal moment, we had fun with the entire bridal party, including an Avengers assemble photo. Then it was off to the ceremony. The church was a gorgeous place with giant windows, allowing the autumn light to flood in. After the vows, rings and first kiss as man and wife, the newlyweds were off to their reception. There, they partied the night away with their guests. They had a blast with their family and friends and each other. It was a lovely evening spent celebrating Kate and Chris and the start of their new life together.
