With the first day of Spring making a most welcome appearance this week, it is officially the start of engagement season! One of the best times of the year, and depending on where you are, you can always find a couple being followed by a photographer and showing off their love.
But we know that scheduling your engagement session and being photographed can be a somewhat daunting task. We would absolutely love to help! Here are a few tips to help you really get the most out of your engagement session.
Show Off Your Favorite Place
Are you a Philadelphian, born and raised? Do you love the Jersey Shore more than anything? Do you love being in wide open spaces surrounded by the unspoiled beauty of nature? Take us there and show it off! We love finding out more about our couples by learning where their favorite places are and why. Over the past couple years we’ve had lots of engagement sessions at the shore and even one in a brewery!
Get Dressed Up
We love when our couples take the time to get all gussied up. After all, these are the photos you tend to use for your engagement announcement, save the dates, invitations, and send to all your family and friends to share in the excitement! Why not look your very best? On a recent engagement session in Longwood Gardens, our couple was congratulated on their wedding. That’s right, they looked so amazing, people thought it was their actual wedding. Doesn’t that get you excited to see how stunning they’ll look for the wedding?
Trust Your Photographer and Don’t Be Afraid to Get Wet
Some of the best moments in life are spontaneous. We love when our couples trust us and embrace some of our spontaneous and slightly crazy ideas. When you’re walking along the beach, we might ask you to wade in. We might ask you to wade a little deeper. And, if your game, you can end up with some incredible images.
We also might start to pose you (sometimes, not all the time) in a way you feel is weird. Trust us. Our job is photograph you in the best possible way and from the most flattering perspectives. Play along and you’ll be surprised when we show you the result!
