Normandy Farm New Year’s Eve Wedding | Tessa Borkowski & Steven Barroso

Tessa and Steven’s New Year’s Eve wedding at Normandy Farm was a marathon of beauty and long-anticipated happiness. From the moment we stepped foot in the home of Tessa’s parents to the capturing their midnight kiss, we were over the moon to ring in 2020 with them and all those dearest to them.

Getting Ready at Home

Normally, we’d start with telling you about the bride, but today is a little different. Different because Tessa and Steven’s adorable son Tristan was getting ready with his daddy at home. Steven’s brother is a whiz with a pair of scissors and so he gave the groom and ringbearer a little spruce before they donned their wedding day attire.

The cute factor blew through the roof when Tristan was dressed in his little suit and bowtie. His darling curls and wide eyes made everyone feel the joy of the day that much more. Then it was daddy’s turn. With some assistance from his groomsmen, he made short work of his suit and tie and was ready to rock and roll.

A few minutes away, Tessa was busy getting the final touches of hair and makeup. This gave us plenty of time to capture her stunning blush wedding dress and glittering gold party dress, along with all the important details. In a funny twist of fate, we photographed her remembrance pieces on a table made of gold butterflies. What we didn’t know is that butterflies are special to Tessa because they remind her of those who couldn’t be present on her wedding day. It was a beautiful reminder that they were there in spirit.

When Tessa got dressed with her mom there to help, we couldn’t help but fall for the long lace sleeves of her gown. They were a real show-stopper. After a reveal with her bridesmaids and dad, it was finally time. Time to get to St Matthew’s in Conshohocken and marry her man and see her little boy dressed to the nines.

The Ceremony at St. Matthew’s Church

Steven waited patiently for the ceremony to begin, and when the music began to play, all eyes turned to the doors for Tessa to appear. Before she did, though, the cutest little ring bearer lead the charge down the aisle. Practically dragging the flower girls along with him. Then, the music changed, and she stepped through the doors.

Tessa practically floated down the aisle towards Steven. Years of relationship highs culminating in this. They stood at the altar and made their vows to each other. And when the service was ended, they raced back down the aisle as husband and wife.

Before we could journey to Normandy Farm for their party, we had to soak up all the daylight we could for portraits. So we did.

Portraits on the way to Normandy Farm

If you had asked Tessa where her wedding portraits would be taken, she would have told you anywhere but the park near her childhood home. But, with the church service running over the time we had allotted, plans changed. So, just down the street from the church and where Tessa grew up, we captured the magic of their wedding party and their love till we ran out of sunlight. When she saw the pictures afterwards, she was awed. “I never thought the park could look like that.” We’re so happy to be able to make anywhere work for our couples! With the sunlight gone, we made our way to Normandy Farm for some more fun after dark.

Portraits at Normandy Farm

Doing our best to avoid freezing, we quickly grabbed some outdoor bridal party shots and then took our cozy couple for a few shots on the grounds at Normandy Farm. The charming farmhouses made for a beautiful backdrop even at night.

We were even able to snag a few portraits inside with some twinkling lights before the reception opened. A reception everyone was crazy excited for. The countdown to midnight was about to begin.

The Normandy Farm Reception

The Grand Ballroom at Normandy Farm was romantically appointed with twinkling lights, gorgeous florals, and all the rustic charm you could ask for. Tessa and Steven stole a few minutes to check everything out before guests joined them, and then hid away to be announced in.

They came in to thunderous applause. The bridal party had done a good job warming up the crowd. The opened the floor with their first dance which started with just Tessa and Steven until they grabbed Tristan to join them. Their little family of three dancing together melted our hearts. Then, Tessa took the chance to dance with her son alone. A beautiful image to capture and we know that years from now, when Tristan dances with her on his wedding day, it’ll be a treasured memory for Tessa.

Toasts were made to the newlyweds, prompting cheers and laughs. Tessa shared a special dance with her dad which made everyone a little teary-eyed. Steven’s dance with his mom was interrupted by his brothers joining him. Then the party got started.

DJ Nique with Vision Event Co kept the music rolling and everyone kicking up their heels until it was finally time to countdown the final seconds of 2019. Noise makers, hats, glowsticks, glasses, all the things were passed out. And as the clock struck midnight, the newlyweds shared an epic kiss alongside everyone at Normandy Farm. The happiest New Year to date.
