Alison and David had a wonderful Old City Philadelphia engagement session last summer. Rachel was a whopping eight months pregnant, but that only made this session even more special.
An Old City Philadelphia Engagement Session
We met at the 18th Century Gardens and had the place to ourselves. It was a beautiful day, a light breeze kept the heat at bay, and Alison and David were both ready to have their engagement session begin.
We walked and talked all throughout the city and got to know more about this great couple. They met when they both joined the same co-ed softball team. David thought Alison was “unbelievably personable, athletic, and cute” but misheard her name as Ashley. He texted Brian (who ended up being their officiant) to clarify, and was glad he did. Meanwhile, Alison thought David was some super Italian guy. Apparently the dressing in all black, zipper only draw 2/3 of the way, and a big gold chain around his neck was a little misleading. He isn’t Italian at all.
Their romance grew through softball games, long bike rides, brunch dates, and lots of time spent with family and friends. They soon realized that their romance had grown into forever love.
During their Old City engagement session, we incorporated those elements from their story. They brought their bikes, threw a softball back and forth, and talked with one another about how they got to this point. And with a backdrop like Old City, there was a lot of variety within just a couple of city blocks, which was good for Rachel’s pregnant self.
When the session concluded, we were left feeling really excited to see these two get married. And excited that the next time we’d be together, Rachel would have a baby and not a big belly.
