Penn Oaks Country Club Wedding | Dana Teano & Kyung Lee

Penn Oaks Country Club was the perfect place for Kyung and Dana’s wedding day. A day that was a long time in the making, and extremely special for a particular member of the AGP team.

Getting Ready at Penn Oaks

The weather had taken a turn for the poorer for this long anticipated day, but there was nothing but sunshine in Dana’s smile when we arrived to begin capturing her wedding preparations. Her gorgeous wedding dress was on display on a dress form in the middle of the room. The letters Kyung had written to her on the milestones they celebrated were arranged carefully, and all her details were ready for their moment to shine. Once we’d captured those, we turned our attention to getting this stunning woman into her dress. Her matron of honor, Kacy, eagerly helped zip Dana into her beautiful gown and made short work of the buttons lining the back. The transformation was complete. We saw the excitement and emotion creeping back up as we began to get ready for her first look with Kyung. Speaking of…

Just down the hallway, Kyung was busy with his own preparations. His new suit was sharp and crisp. We could see the nerves start to build for him as he anticipated seeing his bride. In his own words, it’s like he’s known Dana forever and he just couldn’t wait to start their lives together officially. After he’d had a chance to read Dana’s note to him, we took him outside for the first look.

The First Look at Penn Oaks Country Club

The weather may have been foul, but the overhang at Penn Oaks Country Club saved the day. Providing shelter for Kyung and Dana while allowing us to shoot into the beautiful grounds of the course, you’d never know we weren’t all the way outside! His back to the door, Kyung stood waiting for Dana. She gently made her way to him and when he saw her, the tears began in earnest. Not just for Kyung and Dana, but for Rachel too. This is part of what made this day so special. Kyung is godfather to Rachel’s son Atticus. They’ve known each other a long time, and there were times when Kyung thought his wedding day would never come. To watch him drink in the full radiance of his bride on their wedding day was such a joy for Rachel’s heart to behold.

Their portraits flowed so seamlessly from there. It was easy to capture their love and joy as they settled into their life together, to be sealed in just a few short moments.

Friends & Family at Penn Oaks

Friends and family braved the chilly temps for some very fun bridal party and family formals under our fabulous overhang. Kyung’s mother wore a traditional hanbok dress which was beautiful! When it was time to capture the whole wedding party including the flower girl and ring bearer, we were glad that the ring bearer arrived on time, fresh from his nap. Kyung’s niece was the darling flower girl, and Atticus, Kyung’s godson, was the ring bearer. Such a fun and unique time for Rachel pulling double duty as photographer and mom of the ring bearer. Both kids were awesome for their photos and were excited to get on with the show.

The Ceremony & Reception at Penn Oaks Country Club

In the tented patio, the music began to play. The ceremony had begun. The happy groom and his gentlemen walked in behind the pastor, and watched eagerly as the bridesmaids glided down the aisle. Following Kacy, Atticus came flying down the aisle to grab his mom, which was adorable. Lilian, the flower girl, took her time and made sure Aunt Dana had plenty of petals to step on as she made her way down the aisle. Then, there she was. Queue the tears again. This love story was such a long time in the making, and the moment was overwhelming.

They cheerfully exchanged vows and rings, and sealed it with an epic kiss! The smiles on their faces as they made their way back up the aisle were enough to flood the entire room with sunshine.

Then it was time for a wardrobe change. Rachel stepped out of photographer mode and into guest mode. One of the great benefits to our team. Ashley stepped in to finish the coverage and Liam stepped up as second shooter so Rachel could celebrate with her friend.

Reception at Penn Oaks Golf Club

Introductions were made and then, Kyung and Dana blew us away. Their first dance was to a K-pop song called “Good Boy”, that they had taken the time to learn the choreography to! It was all kinds of awesome. In lieu of dancing with their parents, they both read a letter honoring their moms and escorted them around the dance floor. After toasts, the dance floor opened and it was K-pop-tastic! We had a great time capturing all the moments (including Rachel dancing like a fool).

Congratulations to you both! Thanks for having such a cute ring bearer *wink wink*
