College of Physicians:
One of Philadelphia's Most Unique Treasures

If you've always dreamed of a wedding day worthy of royalty, you might just fall in love with all of the spaces at the College of Physicians. Just like all of the other venues by the Catering By Design Team (including the Michener Museum, Bolingbroke Mansion, & ONE North Broad ), the College of Physicians melds a unique venue with top notch food and hospitality.

Things we love about the College of Physician:

  1. The Courtyard
The outdoor courtyard at the College of Physicians is a rarity in downtown Philadelphia. It's the perfect place for an outdoor ceremony or your cocktail hour, with a lush, beautiful garden and tree-lined brick wall.
  2. The Inviting Ballroom
Every wedding we’ve photographed at the College of Physicians has an unquestionable warmth and glow and that's in no small part because of the gorgeous wood-paneled walls and a candle-like glow from the ambient light.
  3. The Catalogue Room
The College of Physicians is one of the only places we know where the possible rain plan for your outdoor ceremony is so amazing that many people choose it over the outdoor option! The catalogue room is a fantastic place for a wedding ceremony, with an abundance of natural light. Again, the warmth and charm is hard to overstate and you can dress up the fireplace to take it to the next level.

College of Physicians:
What Should You Keep In Mind?

If Ashley were getting married in 2020, do you know where she'd be planning her wedding? If you guessed the College of Physicians, you'd be right. But, if you've ever met Ashley, you know her tastes aren't always mainstream. Is there anything NOT to love about weddings at the College of Physicians?

Things to consider about the College of Physicians:

  1. The Creep Factor
Below the elegant, historic ballrooms is another one of Philadelphia's true gems - the Mutter Museum. It's an in credibly fascinating museum of medical history and human health, but with a collection of human skulls, fetuses in jars, and more, it may not be for the faint of heart! But if you're curiously consumed by this sort of thing, you can keep the museum open during cocktail hour for your guests to explore!
  2. Bridal Party of One.
Although there is a bridal suite available for you to use while you're at the College of Physicians, it is on the smaller side and has no natural light. We recommend heading over to one of the many nearby hotels to get ready, especially if you have a larger bridal party.
  3. The Sweeping Ballroom
The grand proportions of the vaulted Mitchell Hall Ballroom are truly breathtaking, but to fill the space, you may want to consider larger florals or how to create height with other decor elements. Make sure to consider this when budgeting for your College of Physicians wedding.
