Stotesbury Mansion Wedding | Pamela Putnam & Jonathan Silver

The hidden gem of Stotesbury Mansion has quickly found a place in our hearts, so when Pam and Jon brought us on to photograph their wedding there, we were already really excited. This excitement only grew as we got to know these two fun and quirky people and the day finally arrived to capture their wedding.

Getting Ready at Home & Stotesbury Mansion

After a brief pitstop at the Embassy Suites on the Parkway, we all walked over to the Stotesbury Mansion. The weather couldn’t have been more inviting, and Pam was totally on top of things. All her details were packed neatly in a shoebox and cradled under her arm. She strode with purpose, her hair done perfectly by our friends at Elegance Artistry. When we arrived at the Stotesbury Mansion, we rode the antique elevator up to the bridal suite and unpacked all the beauty contained in that shoebox. Pam’s mom had hand stitched a ring bearer pillow, her jewelry was tasteful and elegant, but we especially loved her vintage ring set and Jon’s eye catching wedding band. We found a window and photographed these all, and then brought her dress in for its moment in the sun. The Allure Bridals creation was a vision of delicate lace and beading. The sweetheart top was perfect for the pearl necklace to shine. And when Pam was buttoned up by her mom and sister, everything came together and she was stunning. After we captured a few portraits, it was time for her first look just down the stairs.

Before he could be at the bottom of those stairs, Jon had to get himself ready. Which he did in short order at the apartment he shares with Pam and their sweet kitty, Joplin. Side note: how amazing is the name Joplin for a cat? His wedding day look was clean cut and dapper. The textured cufflinks were offset by the pocket watch he’d borrowed from his dad, it having belonged to his grandfather. A beautiful heirloom for his wedding day. Then, he was ready to rock n roll. It was first look time.

First Look at Stotesbury Mansion & Portraits at Rittenhouse Square

At the bottom of the grand staircase, Jon stood at the ready. A little antsy and maybe just a tad nervous, he waited as Pam drifted down the stairs to him. As she touched her hand to his shoulder, the tension was palpable. Then he turned, and it was grand. They were finally together on their wedding day and it was all downhill from here. After a few more portraits in the mansion, we made our way to a bustling Rittenhouse Square for more portraits and family.

Despite the busy-ness of the park, we were able to find a couple quiet nooks to photograph Pam and Jon along with family and bridal party. Once all the pictures had been taken, we walked back to Stotesbury Mansion to prepare for the wedding ceremony.

The Ceremony and Reception at Stotesbury Mansion

OffShoots Decor had done a magnificent job accentuating the already beautiful Stotesbury Mansion. The mantles were warm, and the centerpiece for the ceremony was darling. Pam and Jon’s friends and family gathered together in the ballroom to witness them join their hearts and lives together in marriage. Jon walked in with his parents, and Pam’s mom and dad escorted her to him. They exchanged traditional vows after a very personal marriage message from one of their friends. In homage to Jon’s Jewish heritage, he stomped a glass after their first kiss. Then it was time to enjoy the delicious food of Feastivities at the Stotesbury Mansion.

After their guests had eaten their fill at cocktail hour, there was still dinner and dancing to be had! Bachelor Boys Band struck up the Cantina Theme from that iconic scene in Star Wars (it was, after all May 4th, Star Wars Day) as the bridal party made their entrances, culminating in Pam and Jon triumphantly making their way through the crowd to the dance floor. They quickly greeted everyone and then sat down for dinner. Service flowed well and before we knew it, it was time for their first dance and parent dances. Opting to share the floor, Pam and her father danced simultaneously with Jon and his mother. Then, in a sweet spin, they invited any other father daughter or mother son duos to join them. There was a surprising number in attendance, and we thought that was a lovely testimony to the longevity of the friendships Pam and Jon enjoy.

Pam and Jon thanked everyone following the toasts offered by her sister and his brother. After surrendering the microphone, they cut their cake. It looked amazing, by the way. Then, the band struck back up and it was time to tear it up. The dance floor was rocking and we enjoyed every moment jiving along.

Before leaving, we quickly snuck out front for a portrait in front of the Stotesbury Mansion and then it was time to bid adieu to the newlyweds.

Pam and Jon, thank you so much for having us be part of your wedding day, we hope that you and Joplin have many years of happiness!
