Get ready everyone! Kylah and Justin’s engagement session is awesome!
A beautiful spring day in Philadelphia
We met Kylah and Justin at our (then) studio location on Antique Row in one of the most gorgeous sections of downtown Philadelphia that exist. Just a few blocks from City Hall, the Magic Gardens, and there are a plethora of side streets available that provide different looks.
They’d come dressed for the occasion. Matching baseball tees, coordinated pants, and Kylah brought her favorite pair of Louboutins. We wandered through the alleys behind the studio and stopped for some shots on a sweet little stoop.
Immediately, we saw their personalities begin to shine. Justin is quite a character! He was a little goofy, but very sweet, especially when he looked at Kylah. We laughed as he made jokes, and shot away as they interacted in such a genuine way.
Then, we moved on to a mosaic mural near the Magic Gardens. This little alley had incredible features. The mosaic wall, a garage door painted with the Batman logo, and lots of color for tons of different looks. Here, we asked Justin to whisper some sweet nothings in Kylah’s ear and got one of the greatest reaction shots we’ve ever taken.
City Hall and Broad Street
When we’d shot to our hearts content near the gardens, we walked over to Broad Street. This shot is absolutely quintessential to Philadelphians. Over the years it has made the transformation from overdone to icon status. And these two were perfect for such a grand site. Then we moved on again to City Hall. Here we shot in between the crowds of people and Kylah and Justin had a quick wardrobe change.
When we were finished, we were so sad to see this couple leave. We’d had so much fun with them and the images spoke for themselves. It was a wonderful afternoon and we hope that they treasure these engagement photos for years to come!
