Sometimes fate intervenes in ways that are totally unscripted, but completely perfect. Just before leaving for her maternity leave, Rachel met with Grace and Jonathan about their wedding later in the year. They wanted to schedule their Morris Arboretum engagement session on a specific weekend in April, when Jonathan could be in the area from California.
This weekend was the last weekend of Rachel’s maternity leave. So, it was a bummer that they wouldn’t get the chance to have their Morris Arboretum engagement session together. Or would they?
Due to a series of unfortunate (fortunate?) events, Rachel was able to volunteer to come back a few days early to capture Grace and Jonathan’s engagement. It ended up being perfect!
A Morris Arboretum Engagement Session
Grace and Jonathan are two of the sweetest and most unassuming people we’ve had the joy to meet. They are genuine, outgoing, and deeply in love with one another. It comes across in how they talk with one another, how they huddle together to send a text message, and how they laugh together. Their laughter makes you laugh, because you can’t help but enter into their joy.
The Morris Arboretum, a Philadelphia gem, was in full glory with blooming magnolias, cherry blossoms, and daffodils for days. We wandered the grounds together, finding gorgeous spot after gorgeous spot. For her part, the only rust Rachel felt was when she asked Grace and Jonathan to dance together and tried to demonstrate. She’ll find her dancing rhythm again soon.
One thing is for certain, after their Morris Arboretum engagement session, Grace and Jonathan were even more excited for their wedding day. And had lots of fun to boot! We are so excited for their intimate wedding at Penn Museum in the autumn. The smiles they’ll wear that day are sure to be epic!

Soooo Sweeeeet 🙂
You two sure found a gorgeous place to take your photos. Your joy and comfort with each other comes across easily. What a great couple God brought together!
