It seems exceedingly appropriate that this post would be following a wet and wild weekend. Thanks Hurricane Joaquin for all the rain. But it did remind us of Tim and Deanna’s engagement session at Barnegat Lighthouse in New Jersey. We planned excitedly for the day and when the forecast called for torrential rain we almost cancelled. But instead, decided to take the plunge and risk it; and the results were totally worth it.
The gray sky gave us perfect light, and the surf was up creating a true ocean side engagement background. The day started peacefully, but as we wound our way up and down the beach, the clouds started rolling in. We tempted fate a bit longer and as soon as we called it a wrap, the storm swooped in. We ran blindly, literally eyes closed because the sand was whipping our faces, and tried to find our way back to our cars. The heavens opened, and we barely escaped the fury of rain as it poured, like punishing the ground for being there poured. But as we look at the images, totally worth it.

These two are great together, and this boardwalk is a beautiful spot for them to take a stroll.

Deanna and Tim danced and held each other close on the beautiful and rocky coastline during their New Jersey engagement session.

Barnegat Lighthouse made a lovely backdrop for Deanna and Tim’s engagement session.

Deanna is such a sweetheart and so excitable. We love this image of her in Tim’s arms.

The clouds swept in suddenly, but we took a chance and shot a few more minutes and got these beautiful images with a stormy sky.

Tim loves Deanna so adorably and we love the sweet grin on his face whenever he looks at her.
Thanks Deanna and Tim for being adventurous and adorable. We can’t wait to share your wedding images throughout the rest of the week!
