I am so excited to share some of my favorite images from Diana & Cristian’s wedding day. Their portraits were taken after their ceremony at their reception site at the Bridgewater Marriott. Not that you would know from the images, but it was pouring all day long and we were trapped indoor for most of the day. Fortunately, the entryway to the Marriott had a large overhang that overlooked a pretty lush garden area that was the perfect backdrop for some outdoor portraits.
The good news is that when it rains, it isn’t the end of your wedding portraits by any means. In fact, I’ve come to absolutely love shooting in the rain. Some of our most beautiful images have taken place on rainy days. And some of our favorite rainy day portraits have been of Diana & Cristian!
It is just as important to capture timeless portraits of the groom on your wedding day as the bride–and fortunately, Cristian was as handsome a model as we’ve ever had!
Most grooms will put as much effort into looking their best on the wedding day as a bride. A closeup is a timeless portrait that every groom should have on his wedding day.
Even though it poured all day long, we were able to find an overhang with a garden view for beautiful outdoor portraits. Rainy day portraits can be just as beautiful as perfect weather days.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, we absolutely love the dream element that shooting through a veil can bring to couple’s portraits.
With the veil between us, couples can have a moment of intimacy that is beautiful when captured on camera.
These two are so magnetic that they would get caught up in a moment and then afterwards realize that we were still there. Love like this takes you out of the world and into a private universe together.
After spending some time out in the rain, Diana & Cristian snuggled up close in a secluded hallway for some more beautiful portraits.
Marry someone who gives you butterflies, flowers, and respect. And find someone who makes you laugh from your soul. Then, you will know true happiness.
In the midst of all of the hustle and bustle of your wedding day, make sure to take advantage of any little moments in between when the two of you can feel alone and intimate, even if we’re lurking in the shadows capturing the moment. It really makes for truly engaging wedding day portraits.
One of the best thing about working as a team of two photographers is being able to wander around and scope out unique perspectives. Serena found the view through this window and set up this cool shot while I was busy taking a few more traditional images.
Once Diana started posing in front of this gorgeous window, we couldn’t stop taking her picture. We didn’t think it would get any better until Cristian joined into the mix. These portraits just make my heart race!
