Cruising up to their Poconos engagement session, Rachel watched the clouds roll in. It looked like the sunset she’d hoped to capture was not meant to be. However, when Emily and Anthony arrived on the scene, it became apparent that they didn’t need no stinkin’ sunset. All the fire needed was in these two!
Emily and Anthony live on Staten Island, but were excited to spend some time at her family’s house for their Poconos engagement session. The little community, not too far from Blue Mountain, was rustic and charming, boasting several lakes for canoeing and swimming in the warmer months, as well as a private ski lift for when the snow covers the ground. We made good use of both of these locations for their session!
The glassy pond of Pilgrim Lake was where we began. Emily and Anthony held hands and snuggled up close to keep warm against the cooling air. Their Poconos engagement session was delivering all the feels, literally. Their reflection in the water gave us double the adorable sights as they shared a few kisses. Then, with a little help from Emily’s dad, we got these two out on the water!
Emily and Anthony hopped into a little canoe and paddled about for a bit. They did their best not to rock the boat too much, despite shifting around a bit. It was quite impressive. Once we’d had our fill of the canoe, dad came back to pull it and them back out. This lead to one of the funniest things we’ve seen for a while. Emily’s dad and brother tied the canoe to a little four wheeled cart (a square frame with wheels on it), and tied it to the back of their four wheeler to tow it back to the house. It brought such a chuckle to us all as we watched them, very very slowly, tow the canoe away.
After wrapping up with a really fun and creative portrait by the lake, we drove up to the top of the ski lift. There we captured the fading light over the Pocono Mountains and saw a few deer as well. It was a delightful end to this Poconos engagement session.
