Spring is one of the best seasons ever because even when the morning starts chilly, the sun quickly warms everything right up! That’s exactly what happened for Andrea and JT’s springtime Longwood Gardens engagement session.
We all met up right when Longwood Gardens opened and turned away from the flow of people. We started off by the beautiful water fountains. Easily one of Longwood’s biggest draws, but eschewed for the moment because it was a bit cool yet. As we started to shoot, it became abundantly clear that this springtime Longwood Gardens engagement session was going to be utterly amazing.
Andrea comes from the world of dance. She’s actually good friends with Emily Royce who is one of Ashley’s oldest friends! This background in dance immediately helped with posing. She knew how to keep her hands soft and graceful, how to stand and turn, and even how to dip! We always help our clients during their sessions to look their best, but with Andrea our instructions were superfluous.
Throughout the course of their springtime Longwood Gardens engagement session, Andrea and JT provided so much beauty to photograph. These two are completely themselves with each other. They laugh together at the drop of a hat, they sometimes make silly faces at one another, and they go round for round in playful banter with the best of them.
One of the things we love about engagement sessions is how they give us the chance to establish great rapport with our clients ahead of their wedding day. When an engagement session feels more like hanging out with old friends than work, that’s living the dream. Andrea and JT were just that. Rachel bonded with JT over chef life (her husband being a chef for a number of years in Philly), and Andrea’s charm and impish humor are enough to endear her to literally anybody. Just try to resist, we dare you.
We cannot wait to photograph their wedding later this summer and know that it’ll be the same story then as it was during their springtime Longwood Gardens engagement session.
