Lisa and Gene’s Wissahickon Park engagement session was the perfect start to our photographic journey with these two! A return to the scene of the proposal, as well as having plenty of space to bring their giant puppy and let him roam.
We met at the Valley Green Inn on a beautifully warm summer evening. It wasn’t too hot thankfully, but there were still plenty of people jumping in the creek to cool off. It was getting close to golden hour when Lisa and Gene pulled up.
We decided to start their Wissahickon Park engagement session along the creek. It was a good spot for Winston to have his moment with his parents as they walked together along the edge. Despite being a little distracted by all the ducks floating nearby.
Once we’d finished there, Lisa and Gene suggested we take a short hike to the spot where he’d gotten down on one knee to propose. Hiking is already a favorite pass time of ours, and getting to talk with our couples during sessions just makes it better! We learned so much about what brought them together and how they’d connected in high school, but took a break during college when Gene was in California for his PHD. When he came home to visit, they got together and decided that long distance was worth a shot, and the rest is history.
The proposal location was so beautiful, we could see why Gene had picked it when he decided to ask Lisa to be his forever love. And a short distance away was a group of rocks in the creek, so we wrapped up our time shooting that idyllic scene during their Wissahickon Park engagement session.
We’re excited for these two to tie the knot in the new year. Bring on 2021!
