When Katelyn started planning her wedding, she knew she wanted to feel like a princess on her wedding day. She and Robert planned a fairy tale wedding, complete with a horse-drawn Cinderella carriage and late night fireworks. We enjoyed spending the date capturing the moments of their wedding day at Belle Voir Manor, and we hope you find this fairy tale wedding as charming as we did.
Getting Ready at Their Family Homes
Katelyn and Robert started the day by getting ready in their family homes. Katelynn was accompanied by her mom and bridesmaids in matching sweatshirts. Her bridal party and mom helped Katelyn into her sweetheart princess dress, complete with train, long veil, and sparkling shoes. Across town, Robert and his groomsmen were decked in their gray suits. They spent some time visiting around Robert’s parents’ bar and relaxing in the family’s movie theater.
Both houses were decorated for the occasion with flowers and pictures of Katelyn and Robert as kids. The sweetest moment of the morning was when Robert opened Katelyn’s gift, a watch with a note reminding him what time he was to meet her at the church.
Their Olde Church of Saint Andrew Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony was performed at a historic church that was built in the 1880s. It boasted a stone exterior with a bright red door, which was used later in the day to stage bridal party and family photos.
Katelyn’s grand entrance into the church had all heads turned, especially Robert’s. She made her way up the aisle, escorted by her dad to meet Robert. They had a traditional ceremony that honored their faith and family.
After the ceremony, Katelyn and Robert stood on the steps outside the doors and greeted their guests. This was followed by family and bridal party photos. The highlight of our day was when Katelyn and Robert’s ride arrived: a white, horse-drawn Cinderella carriage. This was a first for us at a wedding, and we enjoyed taking pictures of Katelyn and Robert as they rode to their reception.
Partying All Night at a Belle Voir Manor Reception
After more couple portraits around the Belle Voir Manor grounds, Katelyn and Robert joined their wedding guests for cocktail hour. They mingled until it was time for guests to be seated for dinner. Once everyone was at their tables, the bridal party was announced, followed by the bride and groom grand entrance. Katelyn and Robert went right into their first dance. The rest of the dinner hour included toasts and parent dances, followed by a full dance floor.
Later in the evening, Katelyn and Robert cut their five-tiered royal wedding cake. But the big excitement of the evening were the fireworks – another wedding first for us! We were able to capture shots of Katelyn and Robert enjoying the fireworks show, photos we hope they enjoy looking at for years to come.
Katelyn and Robert, thank you for trusting us with your wedding photography. We loved capturing your fairy tale wedding, and hope you continue to enjoy the fireworks of life throughout the years together!
