An arctic blast made its way into the City of Brotherly Love the first weekend of November, but that didn’t stop Caitlin and Kyle from having an incredible wedding at the Rittenhouse Hotel with their closest family and friends!
Getting Ready at the Rittenhouse Hotel
The stunning suites at the Rittenhouse Hotel seemed to be tailor made for Caitlin and her family as they got ready. The beautiful window light filtered in softly, and the Ladies of the 80’s playlist had everyone is good spirits. Caitlin was just about to get into the makeup chair when we arrived. She happily showed us all her details and we got to work capturing their beauty. Her sparkling bracelet, the twin bands to complement her engagement ring, Kyle’s shining band, and the earrings she wore for a touch of drama. Her dress and veil were in the care of Sarah, the professional dresser of the day. She had carefully steamed and hung the dress so it was completely perfect. Having someone dedicated to making sure the dress was perfect seemed to take a lot off Caitlin and her mother’s mind. Especially throughout the day.
When it finally came time to put the dress on, Caitlin was a little nervous. It had been a busy morning and she was so ready to get going. So we didn’t keep her from it. Her proud mom Linda was so glad to help her get zipped up. When the dress was on, the jewels affixed, and the stunning bridal portraits done, it was time to get to the church.
Meanwhile, Kyle had had a relaxing time with his groomsmen. It was an easy affair to don his suit and tie, and the main item on the agenda was enjoying each other’s company and counting down the moments until go time. Kyle’s laid back nature proved helpful in just a few moments when road closures in the city delayed the arrival of his bride.
The Ceremony at St Patrick’s Church
Most Catholic masses are very similar, but Caitlin and Kyle’s priest had a long history with the Kelley family. He had performed the ceremony for Caitlin’s sister, Caitlin’s parents, and a half dozen other family members in attendance that day. He seems to be a harbinger of long and love filled marriages that persevere through life with joy and delight.
Once the ceremony had concluded, it was portrait time.
Portraits at Rittenhouse Square & The Warwick
Despite the freezing weather, everyone was in good spirits during portraits outside at Rittenhouse Square. Even the kids did great! Until it became too much (and, hey, we don’t blame them – it was cold!). So we worked through family portraits and bridal party as quickly as we could. Then it was time for Caitlin and Kyle to get snuggly. Partly for warmth, and partly because they are adorable when they get cozy together. The gorgeous golden light gave them a glow and when the cold finally got to be too much, we sought shelter at the Warwick Hotel for a few portraits. Caitlin and Kyle had lived there for a while and it worked well for us as a cold weather portrait location. Everyone thawed out and we captured some intriguing portraits as well.
When we’d warmed back up, we spared a few more moments outside before returning to the Rittenhouse Hotel for the wedding reception!
The Reception at the Rittenhouse Hotel
In the warmly appointed ballroom at the Rittenhouse Hotel, Caitlin and Kyle danced the night away with their best friends and closest family. Caitlin’s sister offered a wonderful speech that made everyone chuckle and really got to the heart of Caitlin’s fun personality and easy-going way of life. Everyone made sure to thank Linda for basically planning the entire wedding (and she did an amazing job!), and pointed out that now she’s available for anyone else who may need a hand. We’d give her a ten of ten stars!
Dancing was all Caitlin had on her mind, and we were happy to capture her breaking it down for everyone on the dance floor all evening.
