It’s 2018. How did this happen so quickly!?! We’ve been counting down the New Year’s fun and preparing for this moment for about three months. . . And then, voila! It is here!
The team & I have been so excited for 2018 for a few reasons. For starters, 2017 was just unimaginably awesome. We photographed almost fifty couples on their best day, saw more furbabies than in any years past, and reached for new heights! And with a record 2018 already on the calendar, we cannot wait to see what is in store for us!
New Offerings: Video
We MAY have started blasting out this exciting news around Thanksgiving, but it never fails to amaze me how many people still haven’t heard. We’ve joined forces with Elvira Mary Videographers to bring high quality wedding cinema in house at Ashley Gerrity Photography! We’ve been working with and gotten to love Kiersten over the past few years, so this is a natural progression for us.
Plus, we couldn’t be more excited to explore video production among the photography team, have the chance to take even better care of our couples, and get behind the scenes VIDEO footage for a truly epic 2018 end of year post!
New Podcast:
Maybe you never wondered what a photographer would do in her free time. Maybe you don’t follow us on social media. Maybe you don’t pay any attention to our Instagram Stories. (If that last statement is true, you may be missing out.)
But so many of our couples do, which means that you aren’t surprised to find out that I have soft-launched my podcast. (Tomorrow is the official launch day – AAAHHH!)
It’s a little less curated, a little less refined, and potentially WAY more fun that the clean cut version of Ashley that shows up on your wedding day. (Clean cut being a relative term. I’m not a highly coiffed person, in general.). If you’ve been an avid follower of the AGP Instagram Stories and enjoyed watching me make a fool of myself over the past year, I’d love if you hopped on over to @ashley.gerrity and give me a follow there!
New “Condition:”
Okay, so I struggled with trying to figure out how to phrase this “new” thing, but Rachel & I both figure that it was worth mentioning. Unless something supernatural intervenes, we’re going to get this girl through a wedding season without a pregnant belly!
While it may not seem like a huge deal to the rest of you, a full wedding season without a pregnancy is going to mean a few more months of taking on the world together without interruption, even more couples that will see both of us shooting together in our natural state, and MANY more post wedding scotches for us both. And really, what is better than a well-earned, boozy treat at the end of a successful day at the “office?”
Well, both of Rachel’s amazing kids ARE better. . . unless anyone feels like treating us to a very expensive snifter or two of the truly rare stuff.
New Locations:
It’s been a long time in the making, but 2018 will be the year that AGP expands into a completely new market. (Three years, to be exact!)
Philadelphia has been the hometown of my heart since I first moved towards the big city and it will always be AGP headquarters. (Seriously, Rachel would kick my butt if that ever changed.) But it is time for us to reach beyond our backyard and grow this company & team into an entirely new region.
I’m not ready to announce location quite yet – although, if you’re a podcast listener, you’ll probably be able to guess after tomorrow’s episode launches. But with the elusive Dr Mike (my west coast husband) ending his residency next June, we’ll be exploring an entirely new part of the country.
WHAT?!?! So before you get too nervous, hear me out! I’m not going anywhere! I’ll still be based out of my Conshohocken studio & working from my home nearby throughout the year, splitting time between our two markets. It would take so much more than my husband getting a job to tear me away from Philadelphia.
(You can take the girl out of Philly. . . but she just won’t stay away.)
