Christina and Fred’s wedding day was a classic Philadelphia affair, with a high class reception at The Ballroom at the Ben and beautiful portraits on Broad Street and the Second National Bank.
Getting Ready at the Loews Philadelphia
Christina’s wedding day started off in a bridal suite at the Loews Philadelphia hotel with beautiful views over the city. The bridal party hung out together in matching silk robes while they had their makeup and hair done by Bella Angel. Then it was time for Christina to put on her stunning Augusta Jones bridal gown from Nicole Bridal. She needed a little help from her mother and her bridesmaids looked on adoringly.
The soft blush colors of her bridesmaids dresses made the perfect backdrop to photograph the rings from Golden Nugget Jewelry and invites from Shutterfly and the stunning bouquet by Carl Alan Floral Designs.
Fred began his day toasting with his groomsmen in another room at Loews. He kept his wedding day style classic and timeless with a black Calvin Klein tux from Mens Wearhouse. A black bow tie and a new watch from his bride completed his wedding day look.

The Ceremony at St. John the Evangelist
Before long it was time to head to St. John the Evangelist Church for the wedding ceremony. The guys arrived first and helped to escort the guests to their seats. When Christina arrived she and her father waited together in the vestibule until it was time to walk down the aisle.
As Christina stepped into the church, the anticipation on Fred’s face was visible. He couldn’t wait to be married to the woman he loved. After a touching Catholic ceremony with readings from loved ones, they exited the church as husband. We were so excited to start taking portraits of them around the city.

Portraits Around Philadelphia
Starting at Broad Street, Christina and Fred enjoyed cheers of congratulations and car horns as they stood on the median for that classic Philadelphia shot. With that shot in the bag it was time to head to the Second National Bank and 18th Century Garden for more photographs. Rachel, with her creative and daredevil hat on, climbed onto a 7 foot wall to photograph the couple surrounded by dogwood flowers. She may have scraped her arm, but it was totally worth it.

The Ballroom at the Ben Reception
At The Ballroom at The Ben the guest enjoyed a wonderful cocktail hour spread by Finley Catering on the Balcony of the ballroom, accompanied by music from Jack Faulkner Orchestra. When it was time for the reception to begin, the bride and groom entered to a ballroom filled with their family and friends who cheered loudly for the newlyweds.
Christina and Fred opened the wedding reception with their first dance before inviting all the guests to join them on the dance floor.
Christina’s father gave a touching toast where he called out her adventurous nature and love for travel. He told the story of when Christina was in college and she brought him on a trip to Germany. They went to collect a rental car and her German had gotten so good the rental guy had no idea Christina was an American until she produced her drivers license. In the words of her mother, “you drive like your father”, and her dad was very proud of how she was able to handle the German Autobahn.
The rest of the night was a blur of dancing and laughter. Everyone enjoyed themselves and that’s a testament to the wonderful couple that Christina and Fred are.
