It was an unexpectedly cool and beautiful day for Anna And Jacques’ wedding. We had a good feeling from the start- but all the love, happiness, and pure joy felt between the bride, groom, and their loved ones made this day perfect. Everything from Anna’s brother in his pink suit with the bridesmaids and Jacques girl-friend rocking her girl-tux with the groomsmen, to the eerie venue with skulls and medical equipment, made this non-traditional College of Physicians wedding awesome!
Getting Ready at the Sofitel
We started off this beautiful fall-feeling day at the Sofitel in downtown Philadelphia before Anna & Jacques’ non-traditional College of Physicians wedding. With hair and makeup in full swing for the girls, we headed to the grooms’ suite where they were pouring some drinks for a pre-wedding toast between close friends and family. Before they headed out for the first look, Jacques sat down and read the letter his bride left for him next to her custom wedding parasol. After the girls were glammed up, they helped Anna into her stunning lace ballgown dress and perfect pink heels. We easily captured her beauty as she put on her finishing touches and took off to get her married at the College of Physicians!
Non-Traditional College of Physicians First Look and Portraits
While Anna hid away in the museum with the skulls, we had no problem keeping Jacques’ heart beating fast as he awaited his beautiful bride outside in the courtyard. She walked down the stairs, tapped him on the shoulder, and the tears started flowing. He admired his stunning wife-to-be and could not contain his happiness as the day went on. The wedding party and family standing close by cheered them on as they saw each other and kissed for the first time on their special day.
During family portraits outside the sun got a little hot, so Jacques quietly went off to find Anna some water, and it was little things like that which showed how intensely he loves and cares for her. They decided to take advantage of the nice weather and posed for some cozy and intimate pictures in the gardens. The red brick and canopy of greenery made the perfect backdrop to pair with Anna’s flower crown and Jacques’ hunter-green tuxedo for a unique pop of color. When Anna danced and spun around in her elegant ballgown dress, she looked like the happiest, most care-free bride on her wedding day. When we needed to cool off, we snuck into the library before the ceremony for a few more intimate couples’ portraits of Anna and Jacques. The amazing window lighting paired with stacks of old medical texts created a dramatic and moody setting perfect for this sweet and stylish couple.
A Non-Traditional College of Physicians Wedding Ceremony
Soon it was time to hide the bride again before they could call themselves husband and wife. We headed into the suite where the bridesmaids helped Anna into her veil for the ceremony. Right before the wedding started, Anna finally had a moment to herself to open her letter that Jacques had written her that morning.
With State Representative Brian Sims there to officiate, Anna and Jacques each wrote their own individual vows for each other. Again, Jacques could not hold back his tears as he heard the personal vows being read to him by his bride. They exchanged rings, vows, and “I do’s”, and became husband and wife. They shared a kiss and headed up the aisle and into the rest of their lives as husband and wife.
Their College of Physicians Reception
While everyone went back outside into the courtyard for cocktail hour, we stayed behind for a few more portraits in that gorgeous library lighting. Anna and Jacques even snuggled up together in front of the fireplace for a few minutes. After all the guests found their seats, Anna and Jacques made their entrance as husband and wife for the first time. They entered through the grand wooden doors and flowed right into the first dance where they smiled like they were the only two in the room the whole time. After a few minutes, it was obvious they were not the only ones in the room as the dance floor opened up to all the guests. They started celebrating the love and bond their loved ones clearly shared, and toasted them for their success in finding each other. Anna’s parents welcomed the guests and Jacques’ parents offered a prayer before dinner. After the bride and groom shared a dance with their parents, the dance floor was filled again. Anna and Jacques, along with their friends and family danced the night away until we snuck them outside for one more cool nighttime portrait in the courtyard. When we came back, it was time to cut the cake, which of course got smashed in Jacques face. We love how cool and playful these two were on their wedding day!
Anna and Jacques, congratulations on tying the knot! Thank you for being so calm and stress-free, allowing us to capture your special day.
