One of the best parts of our job is that we often form a deeper relationship with our clients than merely a professional one. That was definitely the case for Ashley with Molly and Nick. When her due date ended up being only 10 days after their Running Deer Golf Club wedding, she was truly upset that it looked like she wouldn’t be able to be there. Well, never underestimate Ashley. You’ll see soon enough.
Getting Ready at Running Deer Golf Club
Molly is one of the sunshiniest people we know. Her vibrant personality brings out the best in everyone. When we arrived to begin capturing the details of this beautiful wedding day, we could feel the joy. Her stunning dress was embroidered with beautiful and colorful flowers. Next to it, lay another dress. Her late mothers. Molly had beautifully arranged to have her mother’s wedding dress and veil be with her while she got ready for her wedding. We made sure to capture everything side by side. The bittersweetness of this moment hung in the room. Tears were flowing freely, but the overall tone was one of excitement. Excitement that this day had finally arrived.
Nick and the guys were much calmer. Then again, guys do tend to have it a bit easier on the getting ready. His nerves were starting to come up a bit though, as we moved from getting ready to setting up first look. Running Deer Golf Club made it easy to find the perfect place.

First Look and Portraits
Well well well, look who showed up! Despite being only ten days from her due date, Ashley made the trip to Running Deer Golf Club to help capture Molly and Nick’s wedding day portraits. Talk about an emotionally charged moment. Nick and Molly’s first look was sensational. She utterly wowed him, and their portraits were a breeze. They had even arranged for their sweet dog, Annie, to join them for a few pictures. Why not? It’s not every day your humans get married.
Wedding party and family joined us and before too long, it was time to hideaway for the ceremony at Running Deer Golf Club.

Ceremony at Running Deer Golf Club
Molly and Nick’s ceremony was one of the most beautiful and emotional we’ve seen all year. Yes, there have been many tears shed as people finally reach the altar after being delayed by the pandemic, but Molly and Nick had the extra layer of feeling her mother’s absence. Her mother had loved flowers. The more colorful, the better. Our friend, Denise, at Leigh Florist, had crafted a stunning arch for the ceremony. The brightest blooms in the most vibrant colors. There was also a beautiful bunch of sunflowers that sat on the chair in mother’s place, and her presence was felt, especially as Molly walked down the aisle to Nick. But not before their dog Annie had a chance to dash down the aisle herself!
As Molly and Nick were being married, they incorporated a new twist into their ceremony. They’d asked several different people to share some words about marriage for them. One was her grandmother. As she spoke about her 50+ year marriage to her recently departed husband, the tears flowed freely. After each spoke, they offered a single flower. Their officiant then took all the flowers, and placed them in a vase saying, “Each flower is beautiful on its own, but when they are together, they make a stunning arrangement. And that’s what marriage is.” The vase was later on display during their reception so everyone could take those words to heart.
Molly and Nick exchanged their own tender vows, and the deed was done! With the exchange of rings and kiss, they were husband and wife – finally!

The Reception at Running Deer Golf Club
Molly and Nick’s reception at Running Deer Golf Club was a colorful, floral, fun, and epic party! From the teal ombre cake with a cute little Molly peeking out, through the heartfelt speeches, and into the dancing, we were so thrilled to be with Molly and Nick as they celebrated with family and friends.
Congrats you two, and Molly!
