When we think back to Diana and John’s wedding day, all that comes to mind is color. Yes, they were married in one of the most colorful times of year (late October) and their florals were absolutely popping, but we think the most colorful thing about this wedding was simply how vibrant these two are when they are together. From the moment our team arrived at this Manor House at Prophecy Creek wedding, even before Diana and John saw each other for the first time, their ebullient personalities shown brightly.
And while we always love to showcase our photos and tell the story of the day from our perspective, nothing quite captures the moment as perfectly as video. So it’s always a pleasure when our photography and videography teams are able to fully encapsulate a couples’ day. With no further ado, we are very excited to share Diana and John’s wedding highlight film.
From the first moments of Diana getting ready with her absolutely lovely bridal party to the moment when she was buckled into her final shoe, the bridal suite at Prophecy Creek was filled with bright smiles and anticipatory giggles. After she was finished pulling herself together, Diana gave us a few minutes before the first look to capture some stunning bridals of her solo in the suite. (But just a few quick minutes, because she was absolutely ready to see John!)

And perhaps even more colorful than Diana’s sparkling personality, John’s easy-going joy as he got ready in a silky blue floral robe made us smile. His hair was carefully put into place, his beard was gently brushed, and his groomsmen were buzzing all around him getting him ready to see the love of his life. As he buttoned up his suit and prepared to step outside into the light to see Diana, we were able to capture some incredibly debonair portraits of him by the window in the groom’s room at Prophecy Creek.

Everyone who plans a first look is hoping to have as emotive a reaction as can be, but in the absence of happy tears, everyone deserves to be looked at with as much love as John had in his smiling eyes for Diana. He looked upon her with a combination of awe, deep love, and a feeling of sheer luck – we could read on his face thoughts of “how in the world did I get to be so lucky as to find you?” Once they were together Diana and John privately read vows that they had written to each other, one of our favorite newer wedding trends.
Before long it was time to join their wedding party and family for some portraits at their ceremony spot. The ceremony backdrop, a series of wood triangles decorated with greenery, was a perfect background for group portraits. After we worked our way through our group portrait list, we sent everyone else back inside the manor house so that Diana and John could take advantage of the stunning grounds that a Prophecy Creek wedding allows for with a series of gorgeous couple’s portraits.

As guests arrived to Diana and John’s Prophecy Creek wedding ceremony, they were greeted by a fun post box with the opportunity to write letters of advice for the couple to read through the years of marriage. Alongside the mailbox, a beautiful glass container held their wedding day newspaper, a great way to share with guests what to expect during the wedding ceremony as well as showcase some of the lovely engagement photos the couple had taken just months before at Longwood Gardens. After everyone had settled into their seats, the ceremony processional began.
Once again John had that starry-eyed look as he watched Diana approach down the long walk away from the red barn to the ceremony with her mother. The sun shone brightly down on Diana and John as they read their vows, participated in a sand ceremony, exchanged rings and a kiss, and danced down the aisle through a field of bubbles.

After John and Diana paused for a dramatic dip in the center of the aisle and then wandered off for a few more portraits at Prophecy Creek’s iconic wooden swing, guests were directed into a beautiful indoor-outdoor cocktail hour. Our team used this time to head inside and capture all of the amazing reception details and decor that Diana had planned.
After the guests entered in and Diana and John joined them inside of the tent for their Prophecy Creek wedding reception, the party was off to a wonderful start. There were a number of heartfelt speeches including a moment where Diana and John thanked everyone for spending this beautiful day with them. But one of our favorite moments was a game that Diana and John played with some of their wedding party members: couples would come up into the middle of the dance floor and perform and elaborately choreographed maneuver ending in a kiss which Diana & John would have to replicate. As these performed kisses became more complicated, everyone found more reasons to laugh. Moments later the dance floor kicked off and these two riding a high into the late hours of the night.
