After working in the same office and spotting each other in their rival teams’ gear, Matt and Erin certainly didn’t expect their love to blossom. Fandom foes turned forever friends when Erin & Matt finally got to know each other better after joining an intramural volleyball team with their co-workers. While it wasn’t exactly love at first sight, the pair bonded over their mutual love of hockey and travel, making the journey to 18 NHL rinks together. After unsuccessfully searching for a venue in her hometown, Erin’s excitement for an elegant and timeless wedding at Union Trust was unmatched.
Getting Ready for the Wedding at Union Trust
Upon our arrival, the bustling bridal suite of Union Trust was full of anticipation and excitement for the festivities ahead. Erin sat for the final touches on her hair and makeup before enjoying a glass of champagne with her girls. She began gathering her gown from it’s hanging place with views of the ballroom below that would soon host her wedding celebration. Her mom and sisters helped her step into the beautiful ballgown by Allison Webb. Erin added extra personal touches with her grandmother’s pearl necklace and borrowed earrings. She opened her gift from Matt with a handwritten note and dawned the new bracelet completing her bridal look. After stunning her father and her bridesmaids with a first look, it was time to head out to Old St. Joe’s for a classic church wedding.

At the same time just a few blocks away, Matt & his groomsmen were eager to get the day going. The bold black walls of the Renaissance Philadelphia room made for classic portraits with Matt in his Harrison Ford inspired white jacket. After sharing some drinks and some laughs with his groomsmen over the dorky decorations scattered throughout the room, we took to the streets of Old City to get Erin & Matt married!

Old St. Joseph’s Wedding Ceremony
Hidden away in the heart of Old City full of history and tradition, Old St. Joseph’s Catholic Church hosts wonderful weddings. With Matt awaiting at the opulent altar, Erin & her father began heading down the aisle for the handoff. Father Joe Marcoux’s delivered an incomparable mass with many personal remarks about Erin & Matt’s devotion to each other and to God. Prayers, vows, and rings were exchanged before all the parents joined the bride and groom for a special moment at the altar. Finally sealed with a kiss, the new husband and wife headed outside where their furry friend waited for some kisses of his own.

Old City Portraits
While we often work in Old City, we will never tire of its timeless and elegant architecture. Although less frequented than the other staples of Old City, the 18th Century Garden’s beauty boasts just as much. With Puck now in possession, Erin & Matt posed with their new pup before vogue-ing it up with their parties. Looking for some variety in their photos to hang throughout the house, Erin & Matt walked over to the Merchant Exchange Building and First Bank for a few more moments. We think no Philly wedding day is complete without our signature South Broad photo and Erin agrees! When planning with Erin & Matt, we made sure to leave plenty of time to stop before making it to our final destination for their wedding at Union Trust!

Wedding Reception at Union Trust
Ready to hit the raw bar, Erin & Matt had to attend their Finley Catering cocktail hour above the ballroom. Guests enjoyed a feast of fine fare before making their way to the tables numbered with photos of the bride and groom. The newlyweds emerged above the ballroom spotlit through shining sparklers and danced down the stairs. Glasses clinked and laughter sang through speeches from Erin’s dad, Father Joe, and the honors of the day. Although Puck couldn’t partake in the partying, his presence on the cake was perfect as Erin & Matt cut & shared a slice. After an amazing outfit change, Erin & Matt hopped up on the bar for some epic portraits. It was time to sing and dance the night away with Shaffer Sound DJ to finish off their utterly awesome wedding at Union Trust!
