We knew from the moment we met Ashlee and Serge for their engagement session that this couple was special. Their seven year love story had turned a page to the next chapter; they were going to join their lives together forever.

Most people have a honeymoon period that lasts through the first several months of marriage, then life becomes truly real and the rose colored glasses come off. For Ashlee and Serge, they’ve already cleared this hurdle and passed with flying colors. Serge has been with Ashlee through some of the toughest times of her life, and his care for her was beautifully expressed in her vows to him. She spoke of his tenderness, compassion, calmness (and calming effect on her), and his love for her so deeply expressed through his actions. She could barely get the words out, but she wanted so much to let him know just how much he meant to her.

Serge loves Ashlee with a quiet intensity. Her strong will, confidence, and incredible drive are just a few things that draw him to her. It also helps that she is incredibly beautiful and has the most amazing eyes. Beyond the draw of her beauty, there is a soul of one who, when she loves someone, is fiercely devoted, always there, and deeply cares for those lucky enough to be loved by her. Serge is foremost among those. And he understands just how blessed he is.

Their beautiful wedding was rich in hues and steeped in their rich heritage. Serge and his family are from west Africa and Ashlee’s family is largely from Trinidad and Tobago. There was fabulous music and food. Everyone was in high spirits of celebration. The weather was simply perfect, as if we’d been transported to the islands in that moment. The day raced by and before we knew it, we were taking our leave of this amazing couple.

Ashlee and Serge, it was a joy to capture your love and wedding day for all time. We hope that St. Lucia is incredible and that you enjoy every minute of your married life together!
