Ballroom at the Ben Winter Wedding | Kirsten & Pat

Kirsten & Pat met when they were just 12 years old and reconnected in their college years. Pat always knew Kirsten was marriage material, he just had to wait for the right moment to sweep her off her feet. After capturing Pat’s sister Meghan’s wedding at The Ballroom at Ellis Preserve, we were thrilled to reconnect with so many familiar faces for Kirsten & Pat’s Ballroom at the Ben Winter wedding reception.

Getting Ready at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco

Starting off the Ballroom at the Ben Winter wedding day at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco, Kirsten & her girls were a picture of timeless elegance. The traditional black, white and gold invitation suite featured a custom gold wax seal & wedding stamp. Her girls kept it comfy & classic in their matching black button up pjs while Kirsten stood out in her feathery white wardrobe. The Ida Marie & Marissa Grace Artistry teams worked their full-glam magic before the girls got into their elegant black bridesmaids dresses, each boasting their own style. When the time came to get Kirsten into her simply stunning Amstale a-line gown, her mom and little sister were there to help. Once her veil was pinned and her accessories were added, Kirsten shared sweet first looks with her father and her bridesmaids. Finally, it was time to meet Pat across the street for their first look in the Signers Garden.

Meanwhile, Pat & his groomsmen enjoyed a relaxing and fun filled morning of wedding preparations. Groomsmen shared stories and laughs as Pat adorned his custom KP cufflinks, black bowtie, and boutonniere. His best man, Joe, was there every step of the way, ensuring Pat looked his best on the day of his Ballroom at the Ben Winter wedding. Then, Pat read a tear-jerking card from his bride-to-be and added the embroidered handkerchief she gave him to his jacket pocket.

First Look & Wedding Portraits in Old City Philadelphia

Right across the street from the Hotel Monaco, the Signers Garden was the perfect place for a first look ahead of their Ballroom at the Ben Winter wedding. Pat stood waiting on a cobblestone path as Kirsten made her approach from the hotel lobby. In true Philadelphia fashion, bystanders began to cheer as the bride made her way across the street and tapped her groom on the shoulder. When Pat turned around to see Kirsten for the first time on their wedding day, his jaw dropped before they shared a moment of sweet embrace. We then boarded the bus with the bridal party & journeyed further into Old City Philly for more portraits with their friends and family.

Washington Square Park is the perfect place for timeless Philadelphia wedding portraits. With two beautiful buildings and lots of greenery, The Merchant Exchange Building provides an elegant neutral backdrop while the Second Bank adds a pop of color & variety for friend and family photos. We captured Kirsten & Pat with their closest comrades before the bride shared a special moment with her parents. She presented each parent with a gift meant to mark this momentous day. After a few more moments with Kirsten & Pat in front of the lens, we headed off to St. Patrick’s for their wedding ceremony.

St. Patrick’s Wedding Ceremony

With Pat in place at the altar, Kirsten waited on the front steps of St. Patrick’s with her father. Her sister perfectly placed her veil before marching down the aisle. When those doors finally opened and Kirsten made her way to Pat, he blushed at the sight of his bride. The pair came together to hear readings from their loved ones, exchange their rings, and recite their vows. Once their loved was officially sealed with a kiss, the new Mr. & Mrs. Scher headed up the aisle and into forever, pausing for that signature kiss midway. It was finally time to celebrate with a Ballroom at the Ben Winter wedding reception!

The sun was just beginning to set as the newlyweds made their exit from the church. Before making our way to their Ballroom at the Ben Winter wedding reception, we stopped off in Rittenhouse Square park to capture their newlywed bliss in a gorgeous golden hour glow.

Ballroom at the Ben Wedding Reception

Kirsten & Pat arrived to the Ballroom at the Ben Winter Wedding of their dreams. Kirsten’s love for lights around the holidays was honored with garland strung around the balcony of the ballroom, adding a subtle touch of holiday joy. The tables adorned with tall, timeless centerpieces featuring white roses and gorgeous greenery. As guests enjoyed the Catering by Design cocktail hour upstairs with a stunning view of the ballroom below, Kirsten & Pat shared a private first dance in the ballroom.

As guests were beginning to gather, the newlyweds made a grand entrance from the glowing staircase into a sea of sparklers. Parading all around the dance floor with a monogrammed spotlight, they shared their first dance as husband and wife. Then, Kirsten’s dad welcomed guests, along with touching words from her maid of honor and a few laughs from Pat’s best man. The newlyweds thanked their guests for joining them on this special day before cutting their cake & celebrating the night away on the dance floor with the Jack Faulkner Orchestra.
