Becky and Austin’s wedding at Brandywine Manor House was amazing. The poor weather broke and gave us a gorgeous wedding day for these two. And in spite of strep throat (after the contagious period), Rachel was there to capture the memories as they formed.
Getting Ready at Brandywine Manor House
When we arrived at Brandywine Manor House, the sight that greeted us was amazing. Situated back in the wilds of Chester County, this lovely farmhouse and barn made a picturesque scene for our bride and groom.
Rachel and Ann split up and started photographing the plethora of details. Becky’s dress was light and airy, absolutely perfect for the late summer weather. We fell hard for the tulle skirt that swished everywhere. Her jewelry stunned as well. The elegant diamond bracelet and teardrop earrings caught every last bit of the sunlight. The bouquet from Blue Moon Florist was a vision of textures and organized chaos. With the details photographed, we moved towards getting dressed and bridal portraits.
Meanwhile, just a few feet away in the groom’s suite, Ann was photographing Austin and his guys getting ready. Ever the fun-loving sort, Austin and his groomsmen were having a great time as they suited up. Ann took them out for groom and groomsmen portraits and couldn’t stop laughing.
After they’d been safely hidden away, we prepared for the ceremony upstairs in the barn.
Ceremony at Brandywine Manor House
In front of a wall of windows, Becky walked down the aisle to marry her best friend and truest love. Their non-traditional ceremony was sweet and perfectly tailored to their personalities. Having previously shared their vows in written notes before the ceremony, they shared short public vows and rings. Then they combined sand in a unity ceremony before being pronounced husband and wife. The new Mr and Mrs led the way outside and right into bridal party and couple’s portraits.
Portraits at Brandywine Manor House
With the gorgeous grounds, we were spoiled for choice for portrait locations. We opted to use the farmhouse exterior for family and bridal party pictures. Once we’d captured all the lovely people closest to the bride and groom, we whisked Becky and Austin away for their portraits.
The sun was setting and the air was turning golden. The nearby pond was still and glassy, just begging to be used for reflection portraits. So we did! In the still of the early evening, our bride and groom were the only ones in the world as we captured their first moments together as husband and wife. After we’d photographed them for what seemed like an eternity, we let them go and enjoy a few minutes of cocktail hour.
Reception at Brandywine Manor House
These two and their family and friends sure know how to have a good time! Everyone made their presence known as they were announced and after the toasts and super sweet parent dances, Austin’s mom surprised everyone with a special dedication. A lot of Austin’s family hails from New Orleans. To celebrate the spirit of the Big Easy, they all grabbed umbrellas and napkins to wave and danced through the whole reception. The band led a rousing session of “When the Saints Go Marching In”, and we’d be lying if we said we weren’t boogie-ing along with them.
Afterwards, everyone got on the dance floor and tore it up!
Congratulations Becky and Austin! We hope Hawaii was amazing and wish you many happy years together!
