Meghan and Rob hosted an unforgettable Cescaphe wedding at The Lucy, where love, warmth, and meaningful details converged to create a truly magical day. Despite the chill of February, the weather embraced them with unexpected warmth, setting the stage for a cheerful celebration filled with intentional and sentimental touches. From handcrafted decor to cherished mementos, every detail spoke volumes about their journey and shared passions. With a few special surprises throughout the day, Meg & Rob each demonstrated how much love they have for one another.
Getting Ready for the Cescaphe Wedding at the Lucy
Right next door to The Lucy, Meg and her bridesmaids started their day at the Cambria Hotel, soaking in the lively scene of Broad Street below. Clad in matching hunter green pajamas and cozy white slippers, they eagerly assisted Meghan in her preparations for her big day at The Lucy. Before slipping into their elegant green gowns, the bridesmaids gathered for a heartwarming portrait in their comfy clothes, capturing the joyous anticipation of the day.
Meghan’s wedding details hinted at the enchanting themes to come – her modern Truly Engaging emerald green invitation suite, adorned with playful gold script, perfectly echoed the bridesmaids’ dresses, while the gold accents mirrored her bridal jewelry. Vibrant orange blooms added a touch of allure to each arrangement, teasing at a surprise guest yet to come.
As the moment approached, Meghan’s mother stood by her side, assisting her into her timeless a-line wedding dress. With each accessory carefully in place, Meghan paused to savor a heartfelt handwritten letter from her beloved groom, a tender moment amidst the excitement. With preparations complete, they made their way to Old City Philadelphia, where the historic Merchant Exchange Building awaited for Meghan’s first glimpse of Rob before their Cescaphe wedding at The Lucy.

Meanwhile, just steps away at the Doubletree by Hilton, Rob and his groomsmen were gearing up for the big day. While the bridesmaids enjoyed the bustling view of Broad Street, the guys soaked in panoramic scenes of Penn’s Landing and the Delaware River, a particular delight for the youngest members of the wedding party.
Rob sported a custom “Meghan” t-shirt, proudly displaying images of his bride-to-be. His wedding day essentials included a copy of Space Jam, the movie that marked their first date, and cherished items once belonging to his late father, symbolizing the importance of carrying his memory forward. With his stepdad’s helping hand, Rob donned a floral textured tie amid a backdrop of jokes and laughter.
A pitch pipe nestled in his shoes hinted at a musical surprise to come, while his mother swooped in to expertly pin the boutonniere when needed. A dixie cup toast kicked off the festivities, followed by Rob’s assistance in dressing his nephews in their bowties and shoes. With spirits high, the groomsmen gathered for a photo before embarking on their journey to Old City Philadelphia for the eagerly anticipated first look.

First Look & Portraits in Old City Philadelphia
In the heart of Old City Philadelphia, Rob awaited his bride in front of the MEB’s crisp stone facade. Despite the nerves building up, anticipation gave way to sheer joy as he heard Meghan’s approach. When she finally tapped him on the shoulder, his breath caught at the sight of her. After exchanging kisses and capturing snug snapshots, their wedding party joined in for a mix of fun and formal photos.

A brief stop at Carpenter’s Hall held personal significance for Rob, honoring memories of his late father. Then, they continued to Philadelphia City Hall, where more family members joined in for celebrations and photos. Meg adorned a classic fur shawl from her grandmother for a poignant portrait with her grandfather. Taking advantage of the unusually warm February weather, Meg & Rob savored a few more moments in the tunnels of City Hall before heading off to their Cescaphe wedding ceremony at The Lucy.

The Lucy Wedding Ceremony
With a background in theater and stage production, Rob and his groomsmen crafted the ceremony arch themselves, delivering it to the venue ahead of the big day. Later, Rob stood before the floral-covered geometric arbor, dressed in a sharp suit and tie, eagerly awaiting his bride.
Accompanied by her mother, Meghan walked down the aisle towards Rob, who fought hard to hold back his tears. In a sweet and sentimental ceremony officiated by one of Meghan’s bridesmaids, Rob had a surprise in store. After Meghan delivered her heartfelt vows, Rob took his turn, raising his pitch pipe and shocking his bride by singing his vows to her in front of all their family and friends. It was a touching moment that showcased his theatrical personality and love for Meghan beautifully. With rings exchanged, Meghan and Rob were declared husband and wife, sealing their commitment with a tender kiss.

Cescaphe Wedding Celebration at The Lucy
There is truly no match for the lively ambiance of Meghan and Rob’s Cescaphe cocktail hour, where every corner was adorned with significant personal touches. As guests mingled, they were greeted by photos of the bride and groom adorning each table, offering glimpses into their journey together. Adding a playful twist to the festivities, a custom crossword puzzle awaited guests, a nod to Rob’s parents’ careers as crossword creators. The room came alive with nostalgia as an impressive Space Jam ice sculpture stood tall, commemorating the couple’s memorable first date. To capture well wishes and memories, guests penned heartfelt messages on postcards, creating a cherished non-traditional guest book.

Meanwhile, The Lucy’s ballroom was transformed into a stunning celebration space for Meghan and Rob’s reception. Gold accents and vibrant orange flowers mingled with candlelight to create a warm, inviting atmosphere.
When the newlyweds were announced, they burst through the crowd, hand in hand, full of excitement. They seamlessly transitioned into their first dance before inviting guests to join them for a few songs. Now settled in their seats, they listened to heartfelt toasts filled with loving words, advice, and memories of their early love. Rob shared a sweet dance with his mother, and Meghan danced with her grandfather, stepfather, and brother to a sentimental Stevie Wonder song.
Just as BVT Live’s Experience Band had the dance floor packed, a surprise guest arrived. The Philadelphia Flyers mascot, Gritty, burst onto the scene in a fancy tuxedo jacket, joining the dance floor with his signature hip-thrusting moves. The night ended with Meghan, Rob, and Gritty posing for iconic Philadelphia wedding portraits in front of City Hall on Broad Street.

Congratulations to Meghan & Rob! Wishing you both a lifetime filled with the same love, energy, and delightful surprises that made your wedding day so unforgettable.
