Aubrey and Brett’s wedding was a miracle on all accounts–the storm that had been drenching the surrounding area didn’t touch us at the scenic Mountain Springs Lake! The Chester County wedding photographer gods must have been in a good mood, because instead of rain, we got all the magnificence of the Poconos’ fall foliage.
The details of this wedding were so amazing to photograph! Aubrey’s “something old” was a shoe buckle from Brett’s great-great-grandparents’ wedding. You can see a picture of them below.

A lot of weddings feature a first look. This one had a “first touch”, where the bride and groom could talk and hold hands, but no peeking! It really was a lovely moment, as you can see. I found the perfect spot on the property–a free-standing fence–where Brett and Aubrey could hold hands, but not see each other.

Thanks to the weather, the ceremony was able to be held outside. We felt a few raindrops, but nothing came of them. Aubrey and Brett’s mothers began the ceremony by lighting unity candles. After exchanging vows, Aubrey and Brett completed the ritual by lighting the candle in the middle, representing their union.
