Late winter of 2020, aka, BC (before coronavirus) we had the incredible pleasure of capturing some images of Catering by Design’s annual tasting event! To say that we love Catering by Design would be an understatement, and so we were happy to spend a Sunday afternoon in one of our favorite places, College of Physicians, with some of our favorite people.
Each division of Catering by Design was on full display during this beautiful event for couples having their weddings or interested in having their wedding at a CBD venue.
The College of Physicians
This awe inspiring venue in the heart of Center City is one of our absolute favorites in Philadelphia. The stunning architecture, the breathtaking details, and the overall feeling of warmth and charm that emanate from this place stick with you long after you leave. Sitting atop the Mütter Museum of Medical Oddities (check it out if you dare), the College of Physicians has a grand hall for your wedding reception as well as the Catalogue Room for ceremonies. These rooms are both warm and inviting with unique features like a wall of catalogue boxes, oil paintings of famed physicians, and one of the most beautiful fireplaces we’ve ever seen. This gem is perfect for hosting your wedding of just a few to all your friends and family!
Garnish by Catering by Design
Carolyn, the head designer of Garnish by Catering by Design, really pulled out all the stops with the arrangements. The hors d’oeuvres table featured branches with the tiniest little birds sitting on them. Heralding the end of winter and the beginning of spring. All the floral decor trumpeted the arrival of spring. The cascading greens and pops of orange and coral brightened the space immensely, along with the giant windows. It’s easy to love the work from Garnish!
Catering by Design
Wow. Can we say that again, wow. Catering by Design’s work is incredible! The spread that they put on for their couples and those on the fence was beautiful and, more importantly, delicious. Everything was thoughtfully executed, from the individual mason jar salads to the plating stations and their tasty execution. We were fortunate enough to get to taste some of the delicious creations, including some yummy vegetarian options! Catering by Design’s service is off the charts.
Paper Rock Scissors
Our former studio mate, Paper Rock Scissors, was there as well! Christina’s beautiful stationery suites, place cards (including these amazing scrolls that are meant to hang from champagne flutes!), and menus were on full display. Her table was full of inspiration for every style, every budget, and every unique couple!
This event was such a delight, and we hope that they are able to host another one again soon!
