Callie and Jeff bonded over good food and a love of live shows and Broadway after a chance meeting in Chicago. It seemed only right that they tie the knot in Philadelphia (one of the nations best foodie towns) and employ the theatrical College of Physicians for their wedding reception!
Getting Ready for their College of Physicians Wedding
In the shadow of City Hall, Callie greeted us at the door of her Courtyard Downtown hotel room. She was excited to get the show on the road so we quickly got right down to business photographing her details so we could get her to the Rodin Museum for her first look with Jeff. Her beautiful heirloom jewelry was set off by their lovely water color invitation suite from Shutterfly. The showstopper though was her incredible Maggie Sottero wedding dress. When she put it on, it fit like a glove. The plunging illusion back was absolutely stunning. Anxious to be on our way, we piled in the car and made our way to the Rodin Museum!
Just a few floors below, Jeff was having a great time getting ready. If there were any nerves, he didn’t show them. There was lots of laughing and joking around as he pulled on his suit jacket and had his boutonniere pinned on. When everything was just so, it was time to climb in the bus to meet Callie.

First Look and Portraits at the Rodin Museum & Azalea Gardens
Before we could head to the College of Physicians for the wedding, we set up a first look at the Rodin Museum where Jeff had proposed over a year prior. The skies clouded over, giving the wide open space some blessed shade, and the stage was set. When Jeff laid eyes on his bride, his joy was complete. They were here together and nothing else mattered. Callie returned every ounce of joy back to him. These two are truly made for one another.
We wandered the garden and reflecting pool area before using the gate to capture some pretty epic wedding party pictures. In a sweet inclusion, Callie’s brother served as a “bride’s dude” and stood with her for her wedding day. We love how more and more couples are embracing non traditional wedding parties. With the Thinker looming overhead, Callie’s favorite sculpture, we walked back to the bus and made our way to the Azalea Gardens.
The last stop before College of Physicians wedding, the Azalea Gardens are right behind the Art Museum and the lush greenery made for a very different background for more photos. We love that Philadelphia preserves so much green space and used all that we could for their portraits. Then, we loaded back up and whisked off to the College of Physicians for the ceremony and reception.

The College of Physicians Wedding Ceremony & Reception
In a ceremony officiated by the best man’s wife, friends whose wedding Jeff had officiated himself, Callie and Jeff made their vows to each other. There were many laughs and the ceremony was completely tailored to them. They stood between two stained glass pillars that Callie and her father and brother had made themselves! When the time came to seal the deal with a kiss, they didn’t disappoint. With the biggest grins they triumphantly recessed down the aisle, ready to party the night away.
We loved Callie’s brilliant idea for reception decor. She had procured different stained glass lamps for each table and paired them with tiles featuring some of their favorite Broadway shows. These perfectly complemented the warmth of the College of Physicians reception room. It was a most inviting reception.
Jeff and Callie entered their reception gallantly. They opened the dance floor with their first dance before having a seat for some toasts. Callie’s dad, Maggie, the maid of honor, and Randall, the best man, offered heartfelt toasts to the newlyweds. Then, they shared their parent dances, together. And after that, party time! The dance floor got jumping and we only took a break to cut their pie. Yes, pie! Which looked and smelled utterly delicious! So, if you’re not a cake fan, definitely get pie. So. good.

These are amazing photos from an incredible wedding! It’s impossible to choose a favorite, but the last 2 and Callie in the leather jacket turned out great!
Beautiful backdrops for wedding photography! They’ll have a lot to narrow down for prints!
Awesome photos! Congrats Jeff and Callie!
I love Ashley Gerrity Photography’s stated mission: “To celebrate life’s moments, both epic & intimate, through a lens of beauty and elegance.” While our wedding was certainly epic, Rachel, Grace, and Michelle did an amazing job capturing the intimate moments as well, and their efforts really amplified our amazing day. They were incredible to work with from the beginning, and I couldn’t recommend them more for any style of event.
Thanks again to Rachel, Grace, and Michelle for capturing our day so perfectly!
