Alicia and Ian’s College of Physicians Wedding Ceremony and Celebration was a perfect blend of elegance and personal touches. Starting at the Notary Hotel with intimate preparations, the couple shared a sweet first look before heading to the historic venue. The outdoor ceremony in the garden courtyard was followed by a stunning ballroom reception. Every detail, from floral accents to a tribute to their beloved cat, made the wedding day uniquely their own in the heart of Philadelphia.

Wedding Prep & First Look at The Notary Hotel

The quiet luxury of the Notary Hotel was the perfect backdrop for Alicia & Ian’s relaxed wedding preparations. Foregoing the traditional wedding party, it was just Alicia & her mom as they readied for the College of Physicians wedding ceremony & celebration. Her simply stunning wedding gown with floral lace was beautifully complemented by her Something Bleu bridal heels. She adorned a pair of pretty pastel gemstone earrings before her mother helped pin the veil in her sophisticated updo. After placing the final touch on her bridal bouquet, a charm holding pictures of her precious cat Huckleberry, it was finally time to meet Ian for their first look just outside the Notary Hotel.

While the early wedding morning for Alicia began with hair & makeup, Ian decided to start his wedding day with a run. Making it all the way to the famous Rocky Statue at the Philadelphia Art Museum, it was such an iconic way to start a Philadelphia wedding day. Back at the Notary, after a quick shower, he donned a gray suit with a fun interior lining and his classic black watch. With a nod to one of his favorite movies, he then placed a Star Trek pin inside his breast pocket for safe keeping, and he was officially ready for his College of Physicians wedding ceremony & celebration.

Just outside the Notary hotel under the arch covered sidewalk, Ian stood patiently waiting to see his bride-to-be for the first time on their wedding day. While a small crowd gathered around to watch the sweet moment unfold, as soon as Alicia touched Ian, it felt like there was nobody else in the city of Philadelphia. Their smiles boasted ahead of a tender hug and kiss, and it was time to head to the College of Physicians to capture their timeless wedding portraits.

From snuggling up while hidden away in the lush greenery of the courtyard gardens to an elegant session in the beautifully lit, opulent library, capturing their love felt effortless. A special moment unfolded on the grand marble staircase, where the couple recreated a photo from their guests’ wedding at the same venue years ago, adding a personal touch to an already magical day.

Alicia & Ian opted for an outdoor ceremony in the quiet garden courtyard at the College of Physicians. On a perfect Spring day, the pair read their personal vows and exchanged their classic gold wedding bands in a ceremony officiated by a mutual friend from law school, where the bride and groom met. After sealing the marriage with a kiss, the newlyweds celebrated their way up the aisle, eager to enjoy a Catering by Design cocktail hour & kick off the College of Physicians wedding celebration!

Wedding Reception at the College of Physicians

The mahogany-lined ballroom is always a stunning sight, but the Beautiful Blooms team adds a touch of soft warmth with glowing candlesticks and creamy floral centerpieces. Making sure their favorite feline wasn’t forgotten on their wedding day, Alicia & Ian’s signature cocktail and wedding cake topper featured their cat, Huckleberry. A few festive flags displayed over the library mantle welcomed the much anticipated reunion of Alicia & Ian’s college companions.

The newlyweds made their excited introduction ahead of their first official dance as husband and wife. After each sharing a dance with their parents, the bride and groom settled in their seats. The pair heard speeches & toasts from many loved ones, drawing laughter and tears alike. The anniversary dance is always a special addition to any wedding reception, with the winners being married 64 years. Then, the dance floor officially opened for the evening with Center Stage Entertainment keeping the crowd on their feet all night.
