When we first began talking with Kelsey & Nick, they were in the process of buying their first home together in Baltimore, but couldn’t be more excited to tie the knot in the city of Philadelphia. As Ashley’s home base is also in Maryland, she was thrilled to capture Kelsey & Nick’s engagement session in all of their favorite Baltimore locations. Although we knew we wouldn’t get to see Harley again on their big day, we knew these two would find ways to incorporate their furry friend on their Crystal Tea Room wedding day.
Crystal Tea Room Wedding Day Preparations at the Loews
When we arrived to the luxurious suite at the Loews Hotel, Kelsey & her bridesmaids were in full swing preparing for the Crystal Tea Room wedding day ahead. The room was a buzz of bridesmaids in their beautiful blue pajamas as the Gloss Philly team placed the finishing touches on the girls’ natural glam look. When it came time to get dressed, Kelsey’s mother and maid of honor were the perfect hype crew, helping Kelsey into her lovely lace wedding dress and flowing veil. Now a beautiful bride all done up, it was finally time to bring in Kelsey’s dad, who had the proudest look on his face when he saw his daughter for the first time on her wedding day.
Remember how we said that we just knew that Harley would make his presence known on his pawrents wedding day? Well, we’re pleased to report that it didn’t take long, as Nick’s cufflinks featured an engraving of the goldendoodle’s adorable furry face. After suiting up in his classic black jacket, Nick & his groomsmen toasted to the Crystal Tea Room wedding day ahead. Finally, it was time for Nick to meet his bride on the 33rd floor of the Loews hotel for their first look in front of the famous Philly skyline.
Philadelphia Wedding Portraits
Following her first look with Nick, Kelsey was elated to pull a first look prank on the groomsmen. While each of the groomsmen faced the wall to prepare for the first look moment, the bride placed a Smirnoff Ice at each of their feet. As they turned to see that they had been tricked, the groomsmen took a knee and chugged their drinks. After a few family formals & wedding party portraits on the iconic staircase at the Loews, Kelsey, Nick & their crew headed out for photos at Philadelphia City Hall.
Just steps away from the historic structure housing the Crystal Tea Room, Philadelphia City Hall was the perfect backdrop for Kelsey & Nick’s wedding portraits. Soft sunlight fell through the gaps of towering skyscrapers, beautifully illuminating our bride and groom. They tucked away in the tunnels for a private moment (as private as the streets of Philadelphia can be!) before making their way to Crystal Tea Room to tie the knot!
