Oh wow. This past weekend was absolutely incredible as Rachel headed out to Lancaster for the long awaited wedding of Dara and Todd. Their love story’s next scene was about to be written and we couldn’t have asked for a better stage or players.
When we arrived at the quaintest bed and breakfast you could ever hope to find, we met a calm and composed Dara while she was getting the final touches of her hair and makeup done. After an unexpected morning, she was preparing herself to enjoy her wedding day for all it was worth. Her beautiful dress featured an intricate lace back that buttoned all the way up. An amazing book on marriage from the 50’s was laying nearby and made the perfect background for her jewelry, and an embroidered handkerchief dedicated to her late mother was a beautiful tribute to the strong woman who raised a strong daughter.
When the dress was on and buttoned, Dara invited her brother, who also served as her brides-man, to come in and see her. As she embraced him, she told him how happy she was and how incredible of a man Todd is. She told him he had nothing to worry about and that today was going to be amazing. She did the same thing with her father through tears. Her love for her family was incredibly moving and made the day seem even more magical.
Their ceremony was filled with love and lots of music. Even the pre ceremony was chock full of great music – like Todd’s favorite band, Metallica, played on the piano. Friends from the theatre sang, and during the hymn they’d chosen, Dara and Todd’s incredible voices rang out in beautiful harmony. They pledged their love and lives to each other with clarity and perfect enunciation and shared a passionate kiss to seal the deal.
Then it was time to party! When they got announced as husband and wife, they shared a beautiful dance together and twirled and whirled like nobody was watching. As a truly unique twist, when they had their pastor bless the food, they were joined by a dozen friends to form a chorus and sang a blessing before the pastor spoke. It was a beautiful moment that we won’t forget for its uniqueness.
It was a gorgeous day spent with gorgeous people. Dara was simply radiant all day and Todd was a gentleman in the utmost. We wish them the best in this next season of life and hope that you enjoy their photos as much as we enjoyed taking them!
