Do you remember just a couple days ago when we showed you Lauren and Marty’s engagement session? We knew then that this couple was special. And not just because they have the cutest little pup ever, although he certainly helps. These two feisty go-getters found each other and plan to conquer the world!
Getting Ready at the Ritz Carlton
My oh my, Lauren was a complete vision as she got ready for her wedding day. Her beautiful Anne Barge dress and veil were hung with care. We loved the simple fabric and silhouette – it allowed Lauren’s natural beauty to really shine through. The lace that wrapped her Carl Alan bouquet was from her mother’s wedding dress. And her Jimmy Choo’s! Simply to die for. She was nothing but smiles the entire time. When she opened the letter and gift from Marty, the room hushed. There was a beautiful blue necklace for her and it was the perfect final touch.
Just a little ways away, at their apartment, Marty and his groomsmen were getting ready. In more ways than one. While Marty got his bowtie and cufflinks on, his groomsmen were busy pouring a round of Basil Hayden’s for a pre wedding toast. Even Paddy (Lauren and Marty’s adorable dog) was part of the fun. (Not the drinking part, cause you know, he’s a dog.) Then it was off to the church!
The ceremony at St. Patrick’s Church
Where better for two die hard Fightin’ Irish (and Notre Dame Alums) to tie the knot than St. Patrick’s Church in Philadelphia? Their traditional Catholic ceremony seemed to flash by. When Marty saw his bride coming down the aisle, his face processed a thousand emotions at once. But ultimately, he was just to excited to marry his love.
They exchanged vows and rings, sealed their union with a kiss, and were soon on their way to celebrating their love with those they hold dearest. But before they boarded the trolley, they were greeted by a special surprise arranged by Lauren’s parents. A bagpiper was outside the church playing for them as their guests filtered out. The perfect end to a beautiful Irish ceremony.
Portraits at the Philadelphia Museum of Art + a special guest appearance
After we had our fill of the bagpiper’s dulcet tones, we made our way to the Art Museum where we had a great time with the bridal party pictures. Everyone was in high spirits which certainly helped fend off the chilly October air. Lauren frequently used her veil as a shawl. It made for such a pretty view that we had to photograph her all wrapped up. The wind picked up wickedly on Broad Street, and nearly sent her veil sailing through the streets of Philly. After it died down, and we got the veil securely pinned, we made our way to the Pyramid Club for their beautiful reception.
When we got there, there was still plenty of time before the formalities that Lauren and Marty asked to go to their nearby apartment and check in on their pup. So we walked a few blocks down to see Paddy and get some pictures of his newly married parents. It was good for all our souls.
The reception at the Pyramid Club
When the new Mr and Mrs Glynn were announced into their reception at the Pyramid Club, the room went crazy. Everyone was so excited to celebrate their marriage. They shared a beautiful first dance together and laughed heartily at the toasts offered them. The food, like everything else, was exquisite. Food photography is our secret love and we eagerly photographed the gorgeousness.
It seemed like the reception flashed by. The view from the Pyramid Club was breathtaking and the perfect backdrop for the party raging around us. Too soon it was time to leave and we packed up our gear and said goodnight.
Lauren and Marty, we were so thrilled to be part of your incredible love and wedding day! We hope your honeymoon was amazing and that you are all settled into life together as husband and wife!
