They’ve all been dressed by Jenny Packham!
The English designer has been responsible for some of the most talked-about red carpet gowns. The Jenny Packham wedding collection launched in 2008, followed by a lingerie and bridal accessory line in 2011. Her aesthetic lends itself to making an entrance–exactly what you want in a wedding dress.
Here are a few of my favorite pieces from her 2016 collection:
This collection is right up my alley. The inspiration came from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and I’m a huge Shakespeare buff! The aptly-named Titania dress kicked off the Jenny Packham 2016 runway show. It’s a gown fit for a fairy queen! Open sleeves float to the floor, and a free-form jeweled design decorates the empire-waist bodice.
The Portia dress is super figure-flattering. The embellishments emphasize all the right places, creating V shapes straight up your midline. They stop right where your torso ends and your legs begin, transitioning to long, straight lines to make your legs look longer.
I can’t even explain how the pleating on the Imogen dress works. It kind of mimics a suit jacket at the neckline, but somehow is one of the most feminine silhouettes in the entire collection? How is this possible?! The embellishments at the waist take it to the next level. The belt cinches in the middle, highlighting the curve of the waist.
Ribbon-cinched waists were featured a few times in this collection. The ribbon from the Maria dress is this soft, shiny shade of seafoam–I’d take it all by itself! The dress that it’s attached to is beautiful, too. The silhouette is so simple and summery. I’m sure some bride will be wearing this one at her beach wedding.
I love the Mariana dress’s gentle mermaid silhouette and draped sleeves. The color is the true standout–it is represented in the 2016 collection a few times. The shade is hard to describe, almost a soft pink-brown. It complements the brown and silver embellishments on this dress very nicely.
