When we were thinking about ways we could serve our couples who were impacted by the restrictions brought on by coronavirus, one of the solutions was to partner with some venues that were perfectly suited to offering intimate weddings. The Penn Museum is an incredible venue for just such occasions. Alyssa and Rasheem’s intimate wedding at the Penn Museum was the inaugural event and was amazing from start to finish.
Getting Ready at the Penn Museum
Alyssa spent a few moments by herself while getting dressed. It was calm and peaceful, and her beautiful gown fit her so beautifully. Even more so when you find out she’s six months pregnant! When she was ready for the final touches, her mother and sister joined her to help pin in her veil. The light in the bridal suite at the Penn Museum was stunning and made this moment utterly perfect.
Meanwhile, outside, the stage was set for their intimate wedding at the Penn Museum. Chairs were set 6 feet apart, guests were in their masks, and the music began to play. It was time.
Their Intimate Wedding at Penn Museum
Outside in the Stoner Courtyard, Rasheem made his way to the top of the aisle to wait for his bride. When Alyssa appeared in the doorway, he smiled widely. They laughed with one another as they made their vows and exchanged rings. The masked guests cheered when they were announced husband and wife and sealed it with a kiss. Despite the cloth coverings, it was crystal clear. After some family portraits, we took the newlyweds for theirs.
Portraits at the Penn Museum
We stayed in the Stoner Courtyard and Warden Gardens for some beautiful dancing shots and capturing the beauty of the outdoor spaces at the Penn Museum. When it got a little warm, we went inside to the air conditioned Upper Egypt Gallery and Chinese Rotunda. The limitless options for portraits make an intimate wedding at the Penn Museum a fantastic option for all looking to get married in a smaller setting.
Intimate Wedding Reception at the Penn Museum
Guests enjoyed some light fare while they waited for the newlyweds to arrive. Rasheem and Alyssa entered in style and shared their first dance as a married couple. They were joined by their sons, who are completely adorable. Rasheem’s mother danced with him and then also with Alyssa, a beautiful acknowledgment of her new daughter in law. The one downside to intimate weddings is that our time ends so quickly. As soon as dances wrapped and the bouquet was tossed, we said our goodbyes and got right to work on the images!
Congratulations Alyssa and Rasheem! We hope that you enjoy many years of amazing life together!
