Jaclyn and John got married at St. Matthew’s in Conshohocken, and the church was gorgeous. Massive vaulted ceilings, criss crossed with intricate woodwork and beautiful stained glass windows. And, yet again, we had the honor of the Pope’s attendance at a wedding! See if you can spot him.
John waited patiently for his bride to walk down the aisle to him, and as the music swelled, Jaclyn was escorted by her father to her waiting groom. All the beauty of the church seemed to only serve to draw attention to Jackie’s gorgeous dress as it fanned out behind her. After exchanging vows and rings and a tender first kiss as man and wife, they headed out to their reception.
John and Jaclyn held their reception at Vie, a Cescaphe venue, and it was an unbelievable production. The room was beautifully laid out, the bar was well stocked, the cocktail hour boasted more stations and hors d’oeuvres than you could count, and the confetti cannon that heralded Jaclyn and John’s triumphant entrance, made this place truly special. The band they had booked, Jelly Roll, rocked the house and had a song featuring John himself. And all that happened in the first 30 minutes. The rest of the night was a blur of happy people having a great time celebrating and honoring the newlywed high school sweethearts.
In the midst of all the celebration and revelry, there was a somber yet very sweet moment where Jaclyn’s dad got up and spoke about his daughter. How she had raced home from college when her mother had taken a turn for the worse. How she assumed the role of mother in the home, caring for her sister and brothers as well as her father. She made dinner, helped around the house, and became a close confidant to her sister. His deep affection and appreciation for her had the entire room in tears. He ended his speech by inviting her to dance with him, and as they danced, everyone knew that Jackie’s mom was smiling down on them.
Jaclyn and John had also booked our social photo booth for their guests to enjoy for the evening. The social aspect allows people to post directly to social media and have a digital copy instead of just a print handed out and soon lost. We had great fun watching guests pile in and wear feather boas, silly glasses, mustaches and anything else they could think of.
Jaclyn and John, we wish you both a year of happiness and love, filled with amazing family and great friends!
