Joann & Nate’s Blue Mountain Wedding celebration was a beautiful and intimate event. Even our team was surprised to discover that Joann & Nate had swept away to the Rocky Mountains with a handful of the very closest friends & family. In having a second ceremony at Blue Mountain Resort in Palmerton, the couple wanted to both celebrate their marriage with many of the friends and family who couldn’t attend their prior mountainside nuptials AND celebrate with all of their guests before starting their new life together on the west coast! Their reception served as a going away party before these two and their dog Briar took off for new adventures (& jobs) in Oregon!
Getting Ready for a wedding at Blue Mountain Ski Resort
Before their ceremony, both Joann & Nate were at a gorgeous AirBNB located in the mountains just a few minutes away from where their Blue Mountain wedding would take place. While Joann, the girls, & their best dog Briar were upstairs getting ready for the day, Nate & his groomsmen relaxed in the walk-out basement, getting ready & playing pool. Once both were full dressed, we had their first look here at the AirBNB on a gorgeous deck overlooking the mountains. The view was unbeatable, but the sweetness of the moment was even more epic! Once the initial jitters of their first look has passed, it was time for everyone to head over to Blue Mountain for some more photos!

Their Blue Mountain Wedding Celebration
With its stunning mountain views and rustic lodge vibes, Blue Mountain was the perfect place to reaffirm their vows and celebrate with the guests who weren’t able to attend their first celebration out west. And with its gorgeous views of the Lehigh Valley, Joann & Nate took full advantage of the picturesque setting by having their daytime portraits taken on the mountainside, just before a summer rain storm arrived.
Just like at their Ridley Creek Engagement session, one of the highlights of the wedding portrait session was the presence of Joann & Nate’s dog, Briar. Much like with any dog-parents, it was clear that he was an important part of their lives and he was included not only in their couple’s portraits, but also in the family & wedding party photos.

Once the portraits were wrapping up and the storm clouds began to roll in, we headed inside for their ceremony. Joann & Nate’s sisters entered the ceremony just before the couple, with their violins at the ready and played as a trio as these two walked down the aisle together before renewing their vows with all of their guests. At the end of the ceremony, the entire guest list lingered behind for a big group photo before dispersing into the ballroom where both the cocktail hour and reception would be held.
The reception was held in the ballroom filled with walls of windows, offering amazing views of the mountains, creating a magical and romantic atmosphere. In between the funny and poignant stories told by friends during their toasts and the couple’s heartfelt thank you, the staff at Blue Mountain Ski Resort served a delightful meal that even our team enjoyed! And after all the formalities came to an end, Joann’s family danced like crazy, adding to the joyous and celebratory mood of the evening.
As the dance floor kicked off, we sneaked away on a golf cart with Joann and Nate to the scenic overlook near the entrance to Blue Mountain Ski Resort just before sunset. It was from this amazing perspective that we were able to capture some of our favorite photos of both these two AND the gorgeous scenery of the Lehigh Valley.

Celebrating with Joann & Nate at their Blue Mountain Ski Resort wedding was a sweet experience for our team. From our first interactions with these two, they were absolutely lovely and genuine – the kind of couple that we can see ourselves photographing through all of life’s changes and milestones. And at their wedding day, we were so honored to be along for the ride with them.
Joann & Nate, we wish you an amazing new beginning on the west coast and a lifetime of joy to share!
