On a crisp and sunny December day, Amanda & Colin hosted the winter wedding of their dreams at the Joseph Ambler Inn. The weather, the colors, the venue, and all the ornate little details we had the pleasure of capturing fell perfectly into place for Amanda, Colin, and all of their loved ones, and we had the joy of capturing it all!
Getting Ready in the Cottage House
Amanda and her girls enjoyed a relaxing morning and afternoon getting pampered and prepared for the festivities ahead. The bridesmaids and moms wore the comfiest red flannel robes and slippers, another compliment to the seasonal theme, with the bride standing out in her matching white versions. When it was time to get dressed, Amanda’s mother and sister helped her into her classic lace full sleeve Pronovias gown from La Belle Mariee Bridal and carefully looped every beautiful button. She added a few personal details with her grandmother’s pearl earrings, Michael Kors white heels, her Barsky Diamonds engagement ring, and a lavishly long veil.
Meanwhile, upstairs Colin and his groomsmen hung out, played some pool, and enjoyed a drink before stepping into their blue suits and burgundy bow ties. Colin wore special dog socks while all of his groomsmen had different themed holiday socks. Once ready, they toasted to Colin & his love for Amanda before braving the cold for a few outdoor portraits.
Braving the Cold for Friends & Family Photos
When all of the wedding day looks were complete and adorned, the wedding party headed out into the chill grounds of Joseph Ambler Inn. In front of the charming cottage house where they got ready, Amanda’s father waited in anticipation to see his daughter for the first time. A tap on the shoulder, a long hug, and a few words whispered to the bride on her wedding day. After leaving the bridesmaids in the cozy cottage for some family portraits, they huddled together for a few photos and took turns keeping each other warm. Colin & his crew kept warm by tossing around a football and sharing some laughs in between being photographed. Everyone headed back inside for a quick warm up and touch up before the tented outdoor ceremony.

Outdoor Winter Wedding Ceremony
Amanda & Colin formally tied the knot in a tented outdoor ceremony in Joseph Ambler Inn’s pavilion. With red siding, festive holiday florals and lights, and friends and family gathered around a few heaters, it was the perfect spot for their ceremony. Amanda’s father walked her down the aisle and handed her off to Colin merrily waiting at the altar. The bride and groom shared a few laughs, said their sweet vows, and exchanged rings before officially becoming husband and wife. After sealing the deal with a kiss, they headed up the aisle as loved ones cheered for the newlyweds.

Portrait Time Around the Joseph Ambler Inn
The new Mr. & Mrs. were eager to stop at all of the unique and festive locations inside & outside of the Joseph Ambler Inn, after taking a few minutes to defrost. We had to take advantage of the setting and captured the pair snuggled up by the Christmas tree and Amanda shared a special moment with her grandparents in the warm and merry cottage before she & Colin braved the elements once again. The Inn made for the perfect backdrop to their classic couples nighttime portraits and a cozy fire was the perfect place for another snuggle. The farmhouse library was a splendid spot to finish off and capture some more casual portraits while nuzzled into each other on the couch. The newlyweds even shared a quick intimate dance before posing for a more formal session in front of the books. On our way back to the reception, they even insisted on stopping for a snapshot with the lifesize wooden holiday carolers.

The Ballroom at Joseph Ambler Inn was beautifully adorned and ready for a reception with string lights, winter accents, and ethereal floral centerpieces by Flowers by Jennie Lynne. While the wedding party had some pretty sweet introductions, the best was yet to come as the new Mr. & Mrs. were introduced for the first time as husband and wife. All cheered and celebrated the couple before they lead into their first dance while Colin held Amanda close and swayed to “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”. He dipped and kissed his bride under the glimmering string lights before Amanda’s father took over and danced with his daughter to “The Way You Look Tonight”. Colin and his mother also shared a special soiree to the classic “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts. After touching speeches and toasts from the father of the bride, the maid of honor, and best man, the dance floor opened with a bang thanks to Crowd Pleaser Entertainment and DJ Darren Moyer. Amanda & Colin cut their delectable cake and posed for a few pics in the photobooth before heading back to the dance floor & celebrating the night away.
Amanda & Colin, we hope you had the winter wedding of your dreams! Thank you for letting us be a part of your special day!
