Katie and Dan were a delightful couple that we had the honor of photographing on a stunning day in June, bright sunshine and low(ish) temperatures. Not bad for Philadelphia in the summer.
We met Katie and Dan at the Sheraton Society Hill, right near the waterfront. From the get go, there were so many lovely little details and moments.
Katie’s mother had sadly passed away when she was a young girl, but Dan surprised her with a necklace into which her mothers diamond had been set. Gentlemen, take note, that is how you surprise your fiancée on her wedding day. The gorgeous final product was simple and stunning! Katie proudly wore it as she said her “I do’s”.
Katie’s lace dress was a perfect fit, and her choice of a longer veil elevated the ethereal quality of the train. It didn’t so much lay as it did hover and shimmer. There were times that it almost appeared to be moving on it’s own. It made Katie seem like a sprite princess as she moved throughout the day.
We love it when the groom has a few special details of his own! Personalized cufflinks always hit the mark and add a tremendous amount of personality and class to a wedding. Dan’s were a wonderful brushed nickel, engraved with his initials. He did have to recruit his best man, his father, to help get them in.
Hair done, dress on, tie tied, jacket buttoned – these two just couldn’t wait to tie the knot! Come back tomorrow to see more of Katie and Dan’s fabulous wedding.
