Manor House at Prophecy Creek Wedding | Liza Fine & Jacob

We have been so fortunate to build up a great relationship over the years with the Manor House at Prophecy Creek wedding team. Thanks to this great rapport, we’ve had the chance to capture some of our favorite weddings over the past few years. From Maggie & Hunter’s music-filled summertime celebration to this beautiful early autumn fete, we’ve yet to be disappointed! The couples that we have encountered having Prophecy Creek weddings have all been incredibly lovely, fun, and have had wonderfully beautiful celebrations. And we couldn’t be more excited to share Liza & Jake’s wedding story with you!

Getting Ready at Prophecy Creek

One of the things we love most about working at the Manor House at Prophecy Creek is that there are lovely getting ready spaces for both halves of our couples. While Liza was getting ready in the window-lit pale blue wedding suite (which doubled as a private space for their Ketubah signing later in the day), Jake was in his own sun-drenched space on the other side of the mansion. Although we’ve yet to see anyone’s colorful wedding dress top this beautiful floral embroidered gown, we love seeing brides incorporate a little color into the day. Liza’s Yumi Katsara gown from Kleinfeld’s had an unmistakeable, yet subtle pale pink hue from top to bottom, which complimented her glowing looks!

Capturing Wedding Portraits Together

Liza & Jake came together for a first look on the pathways along the Manor House’s iconic lake. We love these winding pathways because of the great perspectives we can capture during a couple’s first look. Instead of the typical tapping on the shoulder, Liza insisted on standing back and calling for Jake to turn around, which we loved. As he glanced over his shoulder, he was able to take in his beautiful bride from head to toe in all of her wedding day splendor. And although his initial response showcased the slightly subdued and calm Jake that we’d gotten to know through their engagement, even we could see the change in his smile once he had Liza by his side.

After spending some time solo for portraits, it was time to bring out the wedding party. We wandered the grounds to capture their Prophecy Creek wedding party photos in a few of our favorite spots, where the light popped just right through all of the big trees on the grounds. Then, while the wedding party snuck away to finish preparing for the wedding ceremony, Jake & Liza crept away for a few final minutes of portraits by the big red barn and the iconic brick silo.

A Modern Jewish Wedding Ceremony

Liza & Jake honored their Jewish heritage by signing a Ketubah together prior to their public wedding ceremony. Back in the bridal suite of the Manor House, they were joined by just their siblings (and us!) as they placed their signatures on a laser cut Ketubah, custom-framed in wood by Jake! The rough-hewn wood from a tree on his family’s property was the perfect frame for a document welcoming Liza into his family forever.

After the Ketubah was signed, we all headed out of doors to the Manor House at Prophecy Creek’s wedding ceremony space – a beautiful outdoor archway that Liza had covered in vibrant pick florals and fun hand-lettered signage to welcome their guests.

Once Liza’s parents walked her down the wending aisle from the barn, the ceremony, officiated by her sister-in-law beautifully incorporated traditional Jewish elements like the reading of the seven blessings by many of their cherished family members with more casual memories & stories shared about the years of Liza & Jake’s relationship that led them to marriage, including stories about their two amazing pups who weren’t able to be at the ceremony. After the glass was broken, Liza & Jake led their guests into the open air cocktail hour while final preparations for their Prophecy Creek wedding reception were underway.

A late summer Prophecy Creek wedding reception

Liza’s beautiful & vibrant style extended from her ceremony into the beautifully set reception room for the Manor House at Prophecy Creek wedding reception. With high centerpieces of deeply hued florals to their sweetheart table with royal blue upholstered chairs, color was everywhere! We especially loved the vintage furniture lounge just outside the tent so that guests could spread out and enjoy each other’s company without the thrumming soundtrack of the dance floor (which was absolutely packed from the moment it opened!)

While we loved every moment of celebrating alongside Liza & Jake during their wedding reception, we were especially thrilled when they agreed to step outside just after their cake was cut to find the sun setting over a copse of trees in the distant. Having a short additional portrait time together in the evening allowed everyone to take a deep breath and really soak up all of the moments of the day.

We stayed with Liza & Jake all the way to the last moments of their reception, as their guests created a tunnel of glimmering light up balloons for them to run through on their way to the getaway car. We loved every moment of time we spent with these two and wish the them happiest of marriages through the years!
