On their very first date in Seattle, Megan & AJ discovered they dreamed of a New Year’s Eve wedding back in the Northeast. A few years later, their visions of a black-tie bash came to life in Philadelphia at the Down Town Club. These two sure know how to throw a party and with the Cescaphe team at the helm, their New Year’s Eve Down Town Club bash was everything they dreamed and more.
Getting Ready for the New Year’s Eve Down Town Club Bash
Starting off the day at the Philadelphia Downtown Marriott, the hotel suite was full of energy and excitement ahead of the New Year’s Eve Down Town Club Bash. The bridesmaids kept it comfy and casual in matching black sweatsuits while Megan stood out in her white bridal set. The New Year’s celebrations started early with Megan popping a bottle of champagne and pouring a glass for each of her girls in custom champagne flutes. Her mom helped her into a simply elegant gown with an added overskirt. The delicate embellished details on Megan’s gown and skirt added the perfect pop of sparkle for her New Year’s Eve wedding at the Down Town Club. After accessorizing with a few statement pieces including gorgeous floral earrings and an heirloom sapphire cocktail ring, it finally was time to head to Philadelphia City Hall for Megan & AJ’s first look.
Meanwhile, AJ and his groomsmen were busy preparing for the Down Town Club festivities just a few floors away from his soon-to-be-bride. His father helped him straighten his traditional black bowtie before slipping into his velvet shoes and suit jacket. He opened a thoughtful gift from his bride, a cast-iron skillet for his love of cooking (and her love of watching him cook), signed with a simple handwritten note. After toasting a cold one with his groomsmen, it was finally time for the first look ahead of his New Year’s Eve Down Town Club bash.
First Look & Photos at Philadelphia City Hall
Philadelphia City Hall will always be one of our favorite portrait locations, but we love it a little more around the holidays. Amidst the hustle and bustle of the city outside, the inner courtyard can be a hidden sanctuary fit for a first look. With AJ positioned at the head of one of City Hall’s four tunnels, Megan made her dramatic entrance and tapped him on the shoulder. He held back tears as he turned around to behold the sight of his beautiful bride. After a few romantic portraits, they journeyed to the outside for some epic wedding portraits among the architecture.
Their family and friends joined for formal photos, the ladies stunning in their sparkling gowns and the guys keeping it classic with traditional tuxedos. Their wedding party wardrobe was absolutely on-point for Megan & AJ’s New Year’s Eve Down Town Club Bash. After pausing for a portrait outside the Down Town Club, it was finally time to get AJ & Megan married!
Down Town Club Wedding Ceremony
Upon arriving to the Down Town Club wedding, guests are greeted with Cescaphe’s signature champagne. Megan and her father walked down the aisle lined with glowing candles and romantic rose petals to an awaiting AJ. Her dad placed a gentle kiss on her cheek before taking his place behind the microphone to officiate his daughter’s wedding ceremony. In a short and sweet ceremony, the pair exchanged vows and wedding rings under a wedding arbor lavishly adorned with elegant white hydrangeas. The new Mr. & Mrs. Proulx shared their first official kiss as husband and wife, eager to party the rest of the night away at their New Year’s Eve Down Town Club bash.
New Year’s Eve Down Town Club Bash
The Cescaphe cocktail hour details set the tone for an epic New Year’s Eve Down Town Club bash. No Cescaphe celebration is complete without their signature ice sculpture and Megan & AJ’s nod to the new year was noted. Back in the ballroom, the ceremony space was transformed into the most stunning New Year’s Eve wedding reception. Black and white details, towering florals in silver vases, classic candlesticks, and an amazing view of Penn’s Landing came together for Megan & AJ’s classic celebration.
A new wedding trend we’re loving is the room reveal. Couple’s spend so much time and effort planning a party and we love that more and more couples are building a few moments in their wedding day timeline to appreciate all of their efforts before welcoming guests to the reception. Plus, when you bring your photographer along, we can capture some stunning portraits in the beautiful ballroom like we did with Megan & AJ.
The newlyweds finally made their grand entrance to the New Year’s Eve Down Town Club bash through a sea of sparklers. As “Lady May” sang out over the speakers, AJ held Megan close before dipping her in the final moments of their first dance. Megan and her dad shared another special moment, tearing up during their father daughter dance to the classic “What a Wonderful World”, while AJ & his mom laughed throughout their song. With the formal events over for the evening, it was finally time to party. The celebrations began and the dance floor filled with guests.
Megan & AJ snuck away with their parents to cut their chic wedding cake before dancing the night away. As midnight approached, guests donned classic New Year’s Eve party favors to usher in 2024. The newlyweds rung in the New Year in style, in the center of the dance floor surrounded by 200 of their closest friends and family. With an incredible view of Penn’s Landing fireworks show, it was the perfect ending to their New Year’s Eve Down Town Club bash.
