A thousand paper cranes, planned from thousands of miles away with the help of Clayre at Kaleidescope Weddings, and a thousand reasons to love Anna and Joey: this One North Broad wedding is epic.
Getting Ready at Le Meridien & One North Broad
Anna couldn’t have been happier when we arrived at Le Meridien for her One North Broad wedding. Her bedazzled wine glass filled with cheer toasted to the day ahead. Her stunning wedding dress from Luv Bridal (in Australia!) was hanging in an elegant cascade of ruffles and tulle. Her blue-soled Betsey Johnson flats brought a bohemian flair to her wedding day look.
More important than the beautiful details, although we were crushing so hard on her purple bouquet from Petals Lane and her gorgeous invitation from Minted, was how poised yet excited she was. Nothing could have distracted her from living in the moment of her wedding day. As a result, everyone was all smiles with none bigger than hers.
After she’d gotten dressed with the help of her darling mother, she descended to the atrium to see her dad in the bittersweet combination of his little girl turned beautiful bride. Their embrace was emotional and sweet. In order to keep the makeup from smudging, we then turned our attention to some fun bridesmaid pictures to bring the laughs back into the mix.
Meanwhile, Joey was having a great time getting ready at One North Broad. In a warmly appointed suite, the groomsmen donned their suits and Joey debated actually wearing his brown dress shoes or keeping his blue Chuck Taylors on. With that matter settled, he quickly got dressed and was ready for some fun shots with the guys. After a fun romp at City Hall, it was go time!

The One North Broad Wedding Ceremony
In the Corinthian Room of One North Broad, the first thing to strike us, besides the obvious grandeur of the space, was the arbor that Anna had made for their wedding day. She’d populated it with hundreds of hand folded paper cranes. This was a true labor of love on Anna’s part. Many hours of folding produced a stunning result unlike anything we’d seen.
But the main event was still to happen. As Joey entered, he genially waved to family and friends, then assumed the position to wait for his bride. And she did not disappoint. Joey’s smile couldn’t have been brighter. He and Anna were there on their wedding day and they would leave the room married.

Portraits at One North Broad & City Hall
We stuck around One North Broad for some portraits on their epic staircase. Just a week before, Rachel’d used the very same stairs for some portraits. It felt more than natural to create some intense portraits in this beautiful space. Then, we popped out for some summer sunshine and portraits around City Hall. We love the architecture there, but there was the pop-up farmer’s market that added new elements of green that we ate up. Then, happiness captured for all time, it was party time.

The One North Broad Wedding Reception
First of all, there were MORE cranes! Anna really outdid herself. The amount and the tininess of these little cranes that she used for their place cards, really spoke to her drive and vision. All the flowers reflected her love of purple. In a true egalitarian match, she made sure to incorporate Joey’s favorite color as well. Chance a guess.
Once they’d been announced, they opened the dance floor with a beautiful and fun choreographed first dance. Dinner, toasts, parent dances, were all amazing. Full of life, love, and happiness.

Anna and Joey, we are so glad to have been part of your wedding day here in Philadelphia! We hope that life in Australia is amazing and that you guys have many happy years together!
