Laura & Derek’s wedding at The Union League Golf Club was filled with love, fun, laughter, family, great friends, and good whiskey. All topped off with a beautiful golf course backdrop and lots of dancing.
Getting Ready for Their Union League Golf Club Wedding
Laura began her wedding day relaxing at her family home with her bridal party while having their hair and makeup done by Refeyance and Fringe Hair Salon.
We were in love with her details: rings from Tiffany and Co, shoes from Jimmy Choo, and stationery from Shutterfly Invitations. It was clear that time and attention had gone into making everything perfect.
Her proud mother and bridesmaids helped her into her wonderful Maggie Sottero dress from Le Belle Mariée Bridal before she put on her accessories to complete her look. This is always one of our favorite moments, the final touches.
Derek started his wedding day at a nearby Courtyard Marriott hotel. He chose a contemporary blue suit from Suit Supply which beautifully complemented the pink tie and pocket square that coordinated with the bridesmaids dresses. Once dressed, he opened a gift from Laura. His face lit up when he saw the beautiful Rolex watch which he was delighted to add to his wedding day outfit. Before leaving for the church the groomsmen opened a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue label to start the day off with a toast.
The Wedding Ceremony
At the church, the groomsmen helped to escort the guests to their seats as Derek eagerly awaited the arrival of his bride. Before long, the bridesmaids had walked down the aisle and the doors were opening for Laura and Derek to see each other for the first time on their wedding day.
During the wedding ceremony Laura and Derek shared some beautiful moments together, they were clearly delighted that their big day had finally come and they were soaking in every moment.
Portraits at Union League Golf Club
After the ceremony the wedding party headed over to the Union League Golf Club. We couldn’t wait to get them outside onto the meticulously maintained green for some portraits. The soft cloud cover and gentle breeze produced beautiful light for and just the right amount of movement in Laura’s veil. We let Laura & Derek share a quiet moment with each other and they were so cute together they required little direction from us.
The Union League Golf Club Reception
The wedding reception kicked off with lots of fun entrances from the wedding party. Then Laura and Derek entered and officially opened the reception with their first dance as husband and wife.
Heartfelt and hilarious speeches from the father of the bride, best man and maid of honor recalled some of the key moments in Laura and Derek’s lives. Soon after, one of the liveliest dance floors we have had the pleasure of photographing opened up and the guests spent the rest of the evening celebrating Laura and Derek’s marriage.
Laura and Derek, thank you for bringing us along to photograph your special day! We had lots of fun and Liam was especially happy that you shared a little Johnny Walker with him at the end of the day.
