When she first set foot inside One North Broad many years ago for a Catering by Design event, Sarah knew right away she wanted to get married there one day. One of our all-time favorite Catering by Design venues, Sarah & Josh selected the perfect venue for their much anticipated wedding. When Josh, the son of Catering by Design’s esteemed president, approached the AGP team after proposing to his dream girl, our excitement soared. As the son of a highly respected catering director with decades of experience in Philadelphia’s wedding industry, we knew Sarah & Josh’s wedding at ONE North Broad was going to be an incredibly grand and lavish affair.
Getting Ready
In the sophisticated suites of the Sonesta, Sarah and her bridesmaids began their wedding day preparations. The scene was adorned with opulent touches: dazzling diamond rings, elegant earrings, and not just one, but TWO pairs of Louboutins. A classic pair of white heels for the ceremony, and a second pair for dancing at the reception, both boasting the iconic red soles. Her Essence of Australia dress hung by the window, illuminated by sunbeams highlighting its intricate lace details, eagerly waiting to be worn. Assisted by her mother and maid of honor, Sarah slipped into her gown and designer heels. Once her sweeping veil was in place, her bridesmaids gathered for the reveal of her completed bridal ensemble. Then, it was time to meet her father at City Hall for their heartfelt first look and some cherished family photos before heading to the ONE North Broad wedding.
Groom Prep at the Notary
Meanwhile at the Notary Hotel, Josh commenced his wedding day surrounded by his closest companions. His father, Peter, attentively fastened his bowtie and bestowed a tender kiss on his son’s forehead. Adorned in his classic black attire, the groom took a moment to read a heartfelt note from his bride before raising a toast with his groomsmen. With the wedding at ONE North Broad right next door to the Notary, Josh and his groomsmen set off on their brief stroll on the gorgeous September day. Pausing momentarily for a few poses with his posse, we could see Josh’s excitement surge as the eagerly anticipated moment drew near.
Wedding Ceremony at ONE North Broad
The Corinthian Room at ONE North Broad offers a distinctive wedding ceremony setup, where guests face the aisle, creating an intimate ambiance and a unique perspective. CBD’s Garnish crafted a stunning floral-covered Chuppah at the aisle’s end.
As Josh took his place at the altar following a spirited entrance, all attention shifted to the bride. Her father, holding her hand the whole way, offered a reassuring squeeze before gracefully giving his daughter away to her soon-to-be husband. Amidst a ceremony brimming with joyful tears and heartfelt sentiments, Sarah and Josh exchanged their vows and Louis Anthony Jewelers rings, surrounded by cherished loved ones. Sealed with a tender kiss, the breaking of the glass marked the commencement of wedding celebrations at ONE North Broad!
Friends & Family
As the captivating cocktail hour kicked off in ONB’s foyer, we treasured our time in the Corinthian Room with a few family formal photos. Now that our bride and groom were finally united, we captured them alongside their closest companions beneath the lavishly adorned archway and grand Grecian columns. Since we captured a few individual bridal party portraits and family groupings prior to the ceremony, we could release the guests to relish the signature Catering by Design cocktail hour. Meanwhile, Sarah and Josh remained for a few minutes of alone time.
Wedding Portraits at ONE North Broad & City Hall
ONE North Broad boasts an array of portrait places among the alluring architecture. We had a blast exploring the expansive interior of the Masonic Temple, starting off in the Corinthian room and of course taking advantage of the iconic grand staircase with our iconic couple. As the sun began to set, Sarah & Josh took to the surrounding streets of Philadelphia. The glow of City Hall in the evening light set the perfect stage for sophisticated & stylish portraits. Once the sun officially set, it was time to celebrate with an epic ONE North Broad wedding reception.
ONE North Broad Wedding Celebration
The Grand Ballroom at One North Broad sets the stage for lavish receptions amidst towering marble columns, gilded accents, breathtaking stained glass windows, and a majestic statue of Philadelphia’s beloved Ben Franklin. Sarah and Josh kicked off the celebration with another exciting entrance, introduced for the first time as husband and wife. Josh twirled and swayed with his radiant bride to the tune of John Legend’s legendary “All of Me.”
Following a heartfelt bread-breaking tradition by Josh’s grandfather, the ballroom filled with clinking champagne glasses and the warmth of laughter during touching toasts from their dear ones. Given Sarah and Josh’s deep value for family, the abundance of kind words spoken in their honor came as no surprise. And when Peter stepped in to ensure the newlyweds correctly cut the cake, it was a heartwarming touch.
As the bride and groom were hoisted high in the Horah dance, we knew the party was just beginning. Sarah, ready to take on the dance floor in her Louboutin sneakers, and Josh, shedding his jacket to join his new wife, danced the rest of the night away with their cherished guests.
