Wedding Photography-Friendly Desserts

Philadelphia Four Seasons Wedding Photography-47

Dessert for your wedding guests is usually a slice of cake. A gorgeous layered confection is great, but why stop there? Desserts are some of the most wedding photography-friendly details. If you like a little something sweet at the end of your meal, here are a few ideas that will really pop in your Philadelphia wedding photography:

Sweet Minis

A spread of bite-size treats like cake pops, tartlets, and petit fours will put a smile on every guest’s face! Not to mention mine, when I see all the goodies that you’ve laid out for me to photograph. Joanna and Steve had the idea to decorate their wedding cake with pretty mint macarons. Each of their guests was delighted to find a colorful packet of three at his or her place, as well.

Candy for a Crowd

A candy bar adds a whimsical touch to your reception decor. Christine and Ryan had a great one at their Chinese-inspired wedding. They even provided red fold-out Chinese takeout boxes to hold each guest’s loot! If you go the candy buffet route, remember to keep it colorful–either technicolor or in keeping with your wedding’s theme. And don’t forget to give your guests containers so they can dig in!

Quaint Cupcakes

Cupcakes are more manageable than cake, and you can get a lot more aesthetic–not to mention flavor–variety. Mix up the way they’re iced–rosettes on some, bows on others, and a few with little fondant “pearls” on top. Coordinate their wrappers, as well. They can all be baked in plain white ones, but adding an outer wrapper of lace to some and tying a ribbon around others makes for an eclectic, charming collection.

Another idea that I’ve seen is baking them inside of tiny mason jars or even teacups. This is the perfect thing for a rustic wedding! If you do this, make sure your guests have spoons for getting their delicious treats out of their containers.

Flavorful Favors

Send your guests home with something sweet! If you’re committed to having a towering cake, but you don’t want to overwhelm your guests with sugary options, this is a great way to go. Plus, you get points for a creative favor. There are even kits like the “Sweetie Pies” DIY favor kit that allow you to bake and package the goodies yourself.

How will you treat your guests to dessert at your wedding? Tell me all of your ideas in the comments!
