Is there any better way to celebrate your 7 year anniversary as a couple than tying the knot under a stunning floral arch in one of the prettiest venues in the city of Philadelphia? Amanda and CJ certainly didn’t think so, and we were able to be there to witness these long time besties seal their love for the ages.
A Little Backstory
Amanda and CJ met nearly half their lifetime ago when Amanda starred in a show with CJ’s brother, Vinny. They quickly became friends. That friendship blossomed into a romance during high school. Amanda was drawn to the kindness CJ radiates and how he laughs with his entire body… and longer than anyone else. He’s also the most non-judgmental person she knows. CJ is wild about how Amanda is unapologetically bold and daring. She exudes confidence in any situation. During their wedding, we witnessed these traits first hand.
Getting Ready at the Ritz Carlton and Free Library
After a delightful brunch at Vintage, we split up and made our way to the excited bride and groom. Rachel arrived at the Ritz Carlton and was greeted by an exuberant and very dapper CJ. His classic black and white tuxedo was impeccable and garnished with an Alice in Wonderland themed pocket watch. There was no way he was going to be late for this very important date. His mom, dad, and brother were with him, and there was a buzz in the air. Not a nervous buzz. Just a family that was all very excited for this day that they’d planned for such a long time.
Meanwhile, at the Free Library of Philadelphia, Amanda and her parents and bests were getting ready. With parents who both work in costuming, her wedding dress was perfectly fitted to her that day. Her hair and makeup were perfect. Everything was coming together for this incredible day. It was apparent that everyone knew these two were meant to be and were anxious to get down the aisle. But first, Amanda and CJ needed to see each other, so we got ready for their first look.
The First Look at the Free Library of Philadelphia
On the landing of an epic staircase in the library, we set CJ. As he stood facing the wall, counting the seconds until he saw his love, Amanda swept down the stairs in her fabulous Pronovias gown to tap his shoulder. After the briefest of pauses, CJ turned and his jaw dropped. His bride stood before him beaming and he couldn’t have been more excited. They shared excited kisses, hugs, and laughter and were soon joined by their friends and family. As deeply in love as Amanda and CJ are, they complete their joy in the friends and family they are surrounded with. It was beautiful to witness such a tight knit community celebrate with one heart and joy that day.
We moved along with the day. We traveled through the library stopping hither and thither for portraits. Such a unique place, and we had a wonderful time exploring with these two lovebirds before delivering them to their ceremony.
The Ceremony at the Free Library of Philadelphia
Under a beautifully appointed floral archway created by bookcases – which had pictures of Amanda and CJ through the years – Amanda and CJ came together and shared why they wanted to spend their lives together. They committed to be each other’s best friend and biggest supporter. They exchanged lovely rings and sealed the entire deal with a kiss! Then it was time to party!
The Reception at the Free Library of Philadelphia
Unfortunately, rain deterred the original plan to party under the evening skies of Philadelphia on the terrace, but the Skyline Room was transformed into a cozy party space and everyone had a blast. The music bumped, the party jumped, the speeches were entertaining and heartfelt, and the bride and groom were awash in the glow of blissful happiness. They danced and talked, sang and drank, and never ever left each other’s side. All too soon it was time for us to bow out and take our leave.
